October 23, 201213 yr Author You are certainly entitled to your "rant", I'm not even sure I disagree with you. But I'm not taking the bait.. Did not mean to bait you. I was already tired of that discussion myself....LOL Having said that, I do thank you and respect you for all the help and encouragement that you give to the members of the forum and that includes me. My comments in the original post were not aimed at the quality of the Carenado product but more at what I see as them just ignoring the fact that guys like you and a few others here go a long way to keep them in business. I just felt that them ignoring your help and releasing the very next project with the same stupid mistakes includied was just like sticking their finger in your eye. I really was speaking out on your behalf.....simple as that. Just thought you should know. October 23, 201213 yr ...I just can not believe that we consumers still are willing to puch the "buy" button again knowing that the product is just not going to be what it should. I don't know about you, though you seem to have already made your decision, but I am happy to push the "buy" button yet again because, like you, I have dealt with Carenado before and so I know pretty much exactly what I should expect for my money. What I expect is a GA plane that is very entertaining and not unrealistic to fly. A plane with a gorgeous and functional cockpit. A plane that looks fantastic and a plane that provides (imho) bloody good entertainment value for less then $40. However... I do not count rivets, and I do not expect perfection. Having dealt with Carenado before, I expect one or more 'dodgy' intruments. I expect one or more minor faults and I expect at least one SP. Paul Smith.
October 28, 201213 yr Carenado has it's faults... but still pretty dam good. Nothing beats the graphic models they put out. N o t h i n g. I can put up with a few bugs if the plane doesn't look like it came out of a middle school computer graphics class. I understand the frustration as a customer. 40 bucks is 40 bucks... and the thing should work out of the zip box. Easy to fix is no excuse. BUT... this is a very small market. There are only a few really special devs... and some of those take forever to do a project... and if I see another slow steam gauge top winger... I'm gonna scream!
October 29, 201213 yr and if I see another slow steam gauge top winger... I'm gonna scream! Better a hundred well-done "steam gauge" planes of whatever speed or wing configuration than one more piece of "Glass" that is little more than pretty colors, hard to read displays and that can't do most of what glass is supposed to do. Just to provide balance. :-) We all have our pet peeves, don'tcha know. Scott
