Dillon--You may wish to refer back to my post in the "loooong" thread which discussed my hunch that Ariane would release the product at a high price, then "cut" the price to make it seem they're giving a remarkable value.It's like those infomercials for food gizmos where they say:"you're not going to have to pay $200, although it's worth every penny. And sell TONS...Of course you forget the catch:"... If you call within 10 minutes it's all yours for 3 easy payments of $49.99 plus shipping".And the shipping charges aren't mentioned.The one time my mother fell for something like that (she was more gullible then) those shipping charges (which aren't even mentioned when you call unless you specifically ask) ran up to cover the rest of that (in this example) $200...

LOLThey probably only sold about 5 NGs and had to reduce the price.

The thing is, going by past experience, the models won't be anything special. The GMax 737-300/400/500 are nothing special at all, hell, even my new -3/4/5 has more detail. Theirs just had a few shapes no one else did at the time, but the fact stands that their 737s lack in some detail and the nose, while OK in FS2000 when the first version was released, just doesn't cut it anymore.The VC previews I've seen show a VC that is even more lacking, shape and texture-wise, than what I've seen of PMDG's. If this was a CaptainSim or Dreamfleet quality high detail and well-textured VC, maybe I'd change my tune, but from what I've seen, it's just average at best. Definitely not something to charge for. Really, if this were freeware, it'd be relegated to AI or tossed.

That's a easy one here for me why I will not buy this NG from Ariane:It has just and only a VC, no 2D Panel at all, except some pop-ups.My screen is 17" CRT, I have a second 15" TFT. No 360

As of this moment, the new Ariane price stands at $85.63 Canadian, which is still extremely expensive, and some of the reviews here don't sound too promising. I'm willing to give them a try, but I have to know the product is worth it. So far, I'm not particularly encouraged.As others have stated, I think that the only way Ariane will ever make its way back into the trust of the flight sim community is if they open up, and create an open forum where we can ask questions and receive answers, and thus get a better picture of whom we're dealing with. This formula is tried and true, and works, and can only contribute to their sales. If anyone from Ariane reads these forums here at Avsim, I would strongly encourage them to do so, it is only to their advantage.Mike F.
