cold starting planes?

Featured Replies

just wondering if there is a way in fs9 so when i load up the planes they always are shut down and i need to start them again?

Yes I usually start or load with defauft cessna in at any airport in my local time zone. Then I turn off all switches (engines, avionics, lights). Then go to file and select save. When box pops up type in name of airport and check the box that say save as default. Now when you start FS9 you;ll start at this default location with a cold and dark cockpit.

Agree with Bigmack above with exception of the avionics switch. Some add-ons misbehave if this is turned off when saving your 'new' default file.

For those aircraft, simply create a second saved flight. If you normally fly with an aircraft that has this problem, then make that one your default flight. But thanks for the heads-up on this issue.

I'll typically save a flight, then hand edit the files to make sure everything is the way I want it. Note that not all switch positions in all aircraft may be saved, but that's generally not a problem if everything else is cold and dark.

Good catch. I have FS Panel studio. For the planes that require avionics switch on, I cut and paste default avionics switch to aircraft panel. But the only plane that

Solves that issue.
