November 3, 201213 yr I am a long time FSUIPC registered user. I've re-installed FSX Gold and was trying to make my install as minimal as possible. Applied Word Not Allowed's tweaks which allways provide excellent results in terms of performance, got bak my three RealAirs, plan to re-install the LevelD767 and the flight1 Pilatus PC-12. None of these add-ons require FSUIPC, if I'm not wrong. Also, I do not have fancy hardware, or look forward to program any sort of Lua scripts, so... Does installing FSUIPC still bring me any advantages over a clean FSX Gold ? November 3, 201213 yr I think that g3d.dll crash fix and the weather smoothing could be two vital items. Other than that, it offers a ton of useful things, but you may not need them that much. The autosave is neat and, when you are using more than one PC, the ability to easily connect addons via WideFS surely helps. It also fixes the FSX battery bug and that hung input acceleration on some dials.
November 3, 201213 yr I set up all my controllers with FSUIPC. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
November 3, 201213 yr For one thing its such a small programme it really isnt a big hit on performance. But then it does offer, weather smoothing, better joystick calibration and allows for aircraft profiles which is what i generally use it for. There are many aircraft that use the free version, so its always worth havnt it installed.
November 3, 201213 yr For me it is my controllers and the ability to set curves for rudder and toe brakes. Bob Officially retired
November 3, 201213 yr Author Ok, thanks for your replies. It will stay :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
November 3, 201213 yr And don't forget that Pete always advances. That crash fix isn't very old, but very useful and, without him, folks would be receiving much more g3d.dll crashes.
November 3, 201213 yr Commercial Member I'm getting sentimentel now. That was my first addon. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
