November 9, 201213 yr Hi if your familiar with the above controls maybe you can tell me why all of a sudden I lost all rudder control. The rudder seems to always be all the way to the left (as you face the tail from outside) I tried recalibrating and it does not work. I updated the driver and it seemed to "quirk" the game a bit. I was having problems adding new airports from another hard drive. I removed the driver and then did a system restore to bring me back before I installed driver. After this the game worked again but of course I have no rudder control. Figuring I did something wrong I went back and reinstalled driver (Mad Catz?). I tested the controls calibration through the Saitek software and all seems to be correct. I then go into the game and as soon as I use the rudder it relapses back to non rudder control. the rudder will not calibrate in the game. I use a 64 bit windows 7. Anybody familiar with this problem? Thank you for all help cant use the simulator without rudder control.
November 9, 201213 yr I'm not sure. Try to remove all non-obvious axis assignments in FS9 (and FSUIPC if you have it) and set it up again; maybe you've picked the wrong axis for rudder. November 10, 201213 yr I have the Saitek X52 pro and my uncel has the Saitek X52, he had the same problem as you his rudders didn't work and the problem was in the wires, one of those metal parts inside the wire got messed up and he had to get new wires ): I also once had a problem like this, I just reset my controls and made sure my it was on my normal mode, and re configured my axis's. Try resetting your settings, making sure you are on your normal mode (mode 1,2,3 what ever you normally use, normally my case), and try to reconfigure your your rudder controller. If those don't work go into the property's of the controller, go to the area that shows all the buttons and axis's and test your rudder and it should show on the menu like a little chart of all buttons and axis's to see if all your buttons and axis's work. If it doesn't turn on the screen when you test it, worst case scenario, you have to get new wires or a new yoke Hope that helped
November 10, 201213 yr Do you have the Saitek equipment plugged into a USB 3.0?? Absolutely has to be USB 2.0 Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

November 10, 201213 yr As CaptainStiggy mentioned, I also had a wire that had the insulation worn through from rubbing on metal. I repaired the wire and rerouted - fixed. Also make sure that the dial type controls on the throttle are centered. On my set up I can also steer nose wheel and rudder from there. However from your original post and what you described I suspect that W7 may be preventing you from saving your assignments / calibrations to the FS9.cfg file. Regards, Mel
November 11, 201213 yr Sonebone I was completely gutted when I read your posting. Since taking delivery of my new computer some 3 months ago I have not used my Saitek X52 as everything I have been flying has been with Saitek Yoke & Pedals. Plugging in the X52 (to USB3) I experienced the same problem as you, permanent left rudder. Tried everything settings wise with no result. Now DO NOT try this unless you feel like jumping from 10000ft without a parachute. Because I thought, that is the end of using X52, I went into Settings/Game Controllers/Properties/Test and with violence twisted the stick in Z Rotation until it surrendered and the "graph" settled in the centre. I have now thoroughly tested this flying the DH Chipmunk, have pulled out the USB cable, re-fitted, switched the computer off, re-started and the X52 works with centred rudder. How long this will remain is anyones guess, but it works at the moment. If this is your last resort, it may work for you, but I cannot take any responsibility. There is an old saying, if it doesn't work, hit it !!!! Best of luck Echofox
