November 12, 201213 yr Hello All, I recently upgraded my PC with an i7 3770k OC'd at 4.6 and 16gb of ddr3 ram at 1866 and a gtx 580. I installed FSX, used Bojote's tool to tweak the CFG, along with including a few others I found from Kostas guide. My FSX runs very smooth with DX10 enabled, but i prefer to look of DX9 with the ENB series bloom. Anyways, my FSX is stuttering and lagging a bit, I've got the internal fps at 30 because I hate the blurries an external gives. I was surprised to see FSX running so poorly with this new setup, perhaps someone could guide me in the right direction. I've attached my CFG incase someone sees something that might be causing the stuttering. November 13, 201213 yr Before you get confused or anything. Do not mix Bojote's and my tweaks. They are incompatible and cause problems. If Bojote's tweaks are not working for ya, and I am not surprised, then delete/rename the FSX.cfg, start with a fresh one and go step by step through my guide. This is from the beginning of my guide: "IMPORTANT: If you feel like going through this guide and set up my tweaks, I strongly suggest you start doing that on the clean FSX, meaning clean fsx.cfg, no mods like ShaderMod 3, no other tweaks, especially not tweaked FSX.cfg through Venetubo tool (not saying Venetubo is bad, only that this is a different approach)."

November 13, 201213 yr As you have noticed, you cannot take a .cfg from one system and just slap it into a new system. Every individual system needs to be manually tweaked to get the best results. I would recommend creating a new fsx.cfg, then start the tweaking process from the start again vatsim s3
November 13, 201213 yr When I got my i7-3770 one of the first things I did was to go use Bojote's tweaker page, but I found it did not help my machine at all. It had been great on my old Q6600 but not on the new box. I whacked that fsx.CFG and let FSX build a fresh one. I then began tweaking very conservatively. I'm using: [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=254 [bufferPools] Usepools=0 [GRAPHICS] TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096 HIGHMEMFIX=1 [Display] TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=40 UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=30 [Main] FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.15 Another thing that I find really helpful is to turn down or off the ground traffic around the airports. I like to see the cars and trucks moving around, but you can turn down this setting a lot and still see plenty of vehicles. Lose not thine airspeed, lest the ground rise up and smite thee.

November 13, 201213 yr Before you get confused or anything. Do not mix Bojote's and my tweaks. They are incompatible and cause problems. If Bojote's tweaks are not working for ya, and I am not surprised, then delete/rename the FSX.cfg, start with a fresh one and go step by step through my guide. This is from the beginning of my guide: "IMPORTANT: If you feel like going through this guide and set up my tweaks, I strongly suggest you start doing that on the clean FSX, meaning clean fsx.cfg, no mods like ShaderMod 3, no other tweaks, especially not tweaked FSX.cfg through Venetubo tool (not saying Venetubo is bad, only that this is a different approach)." I just did a 3570/GTX660 machine (see E8600 in Mobo Section). I set it up per the PMDG B737 manual and Ryan's tweaks. I get 30 fps all day with no overclocking. November 13, 201213 yr Syd, Do you have HT disabled or enabled? Whats the point of having AffinityMask at 254? Also, are there updates that you physically have to download? Or are they all just CFG tweaks? Thanks! Hex On the "3rd Generation" CPU's there are 8 "virtual cores" the 254 keeps FSX off of the first virtual core. I think hyperthreading is not enabled on my machine. I did do one firmware update on the bios. I don't understand why you're getting so much much stuttering and artifact unless there is some sort of timing issue between MOBO, CPU and GPU. Running that fast one would think that your machine should be a smooth as butter. Sometimes particular planes, really gauges, can cause problems regardless of how fast your computer is. Also, some scenery packages can cause difficulties. Lose not thine airspeed, lest the ground rise up and smite thee.
November 13, 201213 yr Author I've no Idea, All I have installed is REX, GEX, UTX and the QW757. Even on default it ran like crap. I'm no computer expert so Idk what the culprit is.
