November 15, 201213 yr Hi, I connected the following screens via USB: Acer T231H, The USB support is part of WIN 7 64bit. So this was no problem. If you use more than one touch screen with Windows 7 64bit it's better to use he following drivers: http://www.touch-base.com/ They are not cheap but you have many additional configuration possibilities. November 15, 201213 yr Not as fancy as touch screens but I have a 3+1 setup using a 7950 for eyefinity and a 6550 for the +1. I run in window mode so I span the eyefinity with the VC and I run the +1 with the 2d cockpit or I make a custom 2d panel using fs panel studio. November 16, 201213 yr Author Also, Im at a stalemate with a decision on which monitors to get. I already have a 25" HP 2511x Monitor. I hear that the Samsung Sync masters are really good too. Should I get two Samsung SyncMasters with the same refresh rate and screen type or just get two more identical HP2511x monitors? Which is the best monitor?
November 16, 201213 yr I recommend trying to get the same monitor for all three just because of the resolution and the colors. Colors can shift quite a lot from monitor to monitor but buying the same ones help maintain consistency. Tim Curtis MSFS2020, i7-9900k 5.0Ghz, 32GB Ram, Nvidia 3080, 48" LG OLED CX

Surround is finicky when it comes to what "identical monitors" mean.. IF you look at some old posts here, you may find one discussing how, even if the specs are the same in paper, they may not work together.. So to avoid such problems, you may have to get three identical monitors in every respect. Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 16, 201213 yr Author Ok great advice! I appreciate it! I'll probably get two more HP monitors. Just based on quality of the monitor, is Samsung or HP better?
November 16, 201213 yr Samsung or HP better? Its VERY likely that if you opened the HP monitor, you will find a Samsung panel inside. Same for laptops too, Samsung make a lot of the panels for laptop screens as well... Me, I'd go with the Samsung and get them from a really good retailer/supplier.. Richard... November 16, 201213 yr Author Ok thanks. Does this seem like a good monitor? http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LS24B350HL/ZA
November 17, 201213 yr Author Another question I have is if the GTX 680 only has one HDMI port, is it ok to hook up three monitors through 3 different connections? I prefer to use all HDMI but I can't. How do you solve this?
November 17, 201213 yr Commercial Member Another question I have is if the GTX 680 only has one HDMI port, is it ok to hook up three monitors through 3 different connections? I prefer to use all HDMI but I can't. How do you solve this? Just get TWO DVI to HDMI adapters and you are good to go. This way you will be using 3 HDMI cables for the monitors. http://www.amazon.co...to hdmi adapter If you want to use 4 monitors, then you can also get a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. http://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Male-HDMI-Female-Adapter/dp/B002C97CAI/ref=sr_1_8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1353129600&sr=1-8&keywords=displayport+to+hdmi+adapter Regards, Efrain RuizLiveDISPATCH @ http://www.livedispatch.org (CLOSED) ☹️
November 17, 201213 yr Author Oh ok I didn't even think of that. So if a use a DVI to HDMI adapter, can I still achieve the maximum digital resolution on each monitor?
November 17, 201213 yr Yes.. DVI and HDMI signal work well together without expensive adapters. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 17, 201213 yr Author Also, Im wondering if it is better for a monitor to have a faster response time (2ms) or a 60hz refresh rate? Which is it?
November 17, 201213 yr Author This will be my last post for this topic. So with all facts considered about contrast ratio, response time, and refresh rate, should I get the HP 2511x or the Samsung SyncMaster S24B350HL?
November 17, 201213 yr For a tiny bit more... I got 3 Dell U2410 24" monitors, and they are awesome! (Look on ebay for them) 1920 x 1200, loads of multiple inputs DVI/DP/HDMI etc and 3 year in home next day warranty on all of them.. I plug them into my ATI card using display-port cables which also carry the audio (Just like HDMI does) and all is sweet.. With something like FSX, "response time" isn't going to be a major factor, its not exactly "Dirt 2" were playing, but if you are playing dirt2, then response time and a huge contrast ration is better. Other than that, its down to you and your wallet... Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
