November 18, 201213 yr Browsing my fsx.CFG I see this setting: [VirtualCopilot] VirtualCopilotActive=1 Yet when flying, be it the 737-800 or a Cessna, there is no sign of a co-pilot anywhere... I dont mean visually, but in terms of hearing anybody else speaking or seeing things happen / switches being flipped etc...? So whats this setting for or what does it do in FSX? Richard... November 18, 201213 yr So whats this setting for or what does it do in FSX? To display flying tips! Regards. DIMITRI
November 18, 201213 yr I think it turns on active flying tips telling you things like you forgot to reset the altimeter. If you want a co-pilot changing your switches and helping you fly, then ProATC-X does that. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! November 19, 201213 yr Author "He's" a "she", BTW A? I thought flying tips were text things? Are they spoken tips then?I have never heard any... Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
November 19, 201213 yr Commercial Member Well the flying tips tend to be a bit naggy and persistent so I guess I just assumed - err, umm, never mind... I just found the title of your thread amusing, I guess because you assigned gender to a software option. I was joking of course, no I've never heard any spoken tips either from FSX itself. Some aircraft addons have virtual copilots though, and of course the famous FSPassengers copilot was always quick with an insult whenever you did something out of the ordinary, lol.

[...] That's otherwise a rather normal thing to do actually You should hear my mother scream at her computer. She always says how her computer has a soul and must be treated nicely for it to work well. Of course she is joking, but I believe part of her indeed treats the computer nicely, just to be on the safe side. Ya know, like people who don't believe in friday the 13th still wake up that morning and think "I hope nothing bad happens today".
