July 23, 200421 yr Nothing compares to the Howard! She's unique, and freeware to boot!I love the D-18 but the new payware one looks a little unconvincing for the money in my view. But I've not tried it, so ignore me if you will.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
July 23, 200421 yr I agree with Mark. The Howard is pretty much incomparable. The Simtech Beech is a lot of money when you look at the features list.Allcott
July 24, 200421 yr Yeah I'm a fan of the real life plane (been for a ride on the Beech at the Canadian Warplane Heritage) but the cost of the payware version is holding me back. The VC looks "ok" and if it was a bit cheaper I would have bitten but the Howard 500 is keeping me happy so I said nadda.See you in the fence...CYYZ Al Stiff
July 24, 200421 yr Author Isn't there a nice freeware Beech twin here?http://www.fsdesign-berlin.da.ru/Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
July 24, 200421 yr No, that's a Lockheed Electra - funnily enough the plane that was a direct antecedent of the Howard 500!That's also a darn fine piece of freeware, equal in quality to the Simtech Beech.Allcott
July 24, 200421 yr >Isn't there a nice freeware Beech twin here?>>http://www.fsdesign-berlin.da.ru/>>LeeNo(Electra), but an excellent freeware Beech Super"G"18 is available thanks to Greg Pepper. FS2002 model in Gmax which works great in FS9.Nice VC too for those who fly them. ;) Files are here on Avsim:b18g2k2.zip (main file)b18gfix.zip (some fixes) John

July 24, 200421 yr Here's Greg Pepper's SuperG18. (Freeware)I would be interested in reading a review of the payware version. John
July 24, 200421 yr Yeah, I love Gregs Beech, anyone got an FDE for it that is good for 2004?, it does not seem to fly as well as it used to in 2002CheersDan.
July 24, 200421 yr I've got one (figures, huh? haha) http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Lizardo/ (I intend to further refine it in a few days, this one is about 96% or so.)
July 25, 200421 yr Yep! Like that (Greg's) Beech! Been tinkerin with a photoreal panel for it! Kind of a spare time project! LOL!...now if someone would just make one into a "floatie"...wink wink...nudge nudge!Scotthttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/85238.jpg
July 25, 200421 yr Lizard man,I've signed into your Yahoo site to check out what you have there ... like, a lot. Lookin' good. The only problem I have with all those airfiles is that you don't say WHAT you've changed.I see, for example, that you've also done a file for that new LET L-410 already. So what have you changed, if I may ask?And hey, Scott .... I hope you get that panel done. Looks GREAT.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
July 25, 200421 yr In the posted messages is where I mention what I've changed (the big stuff anyway). The LET was trivial..cockpit lights to red, less induced drag and more parasitic. The Wright Flyer is of course extreme, haha.."acrobatic".
