Good news customer service story

Featured Replies

The world is full of bad customer service these days, so its nice when someone bucks the trend - and it's so easy to moan about the bad stuff and forget about the good stuff.

On Friday I took advantage of the special price for Rise of Flight offered by PC aviator. My download link duly arrived and I kicked it off and was given an estimate of 20 hours(!) for the 3.9 GB file (I have a 12 Mb connection). I reckoned demand was probably pretty high as the sale was just ending, so I let the download continue overnight, only to find out next morning that it had been cancelled by the server. I kicked it off again, but it finished prematurely after less than 500 MB. And again. And again.

At this point I fired off a message to PC Aviator outlining the problem and explaining that all these part-downloads were counting against my ISP's allowance., As luck would have it, the next attempt worked and the file was downloaded after 4-5 hours.

This afternoon, I received a reply to my e-mail. PC Aviator apologised for the difficulties and informed me that a DVD would be sent to me by post instead. Now, by the time they post that DVD to Ireland, I'd say there'll be precious little left of the $9.99 I paid for the game in the first place, so I told them that if they hadn't already sent it not to bother as the download had worked, and if they had already sent it then thanks very much.

I also told them that I'd let others know about their good customer service, which is the reason for this post.

Well done PC Aviator!

H

P.S. I know this relates to a purchase of ROF, but I think it's also of interest to the FS9/X community in general.

I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

I have had good experiences with PC Aviator before.

On another note, the best airline for customer service in my opinion is Cathay Pacific.
