The bug-code IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE (BugCheck 0x0000004a) usually indicates problems with a device driver. Do you have all your drivers up to date for your USB-plugged devices? Also pull out unnecessary devices from your USB connections. You can check on whether your drivers are up-to-date by using a freeware driver update program. I use Driver Scanner - http://www.uniblue.com/. It's freeware until you want it to automatically download and install the updates. You can either pay to have that done or you can see what updates are needed and look up the respective websites where the drivers are located and install them yourself.

The BSOD dmp indcated the following dll's that might be the problem of your BSOD:

ntoskrnl.exe+7e569

hal.dll

kdcom.dll

mcupdate_GenuineIntel.dll

PSHED.dll

CLFS.sys

CI.dll

I cannot pinpoint an exact cause. Since you were running the PMDG 747 for over 3 hours and it crashes after that amount of time, I would look at your system temperatures and make sure your system is not overheating. FSX taxes system components and, if you system is not properly cooled, it could crash.

You also need to do the following:

- activate/validate the Windows installation at Genuine Microsoft Software

- run sfc /scannow to replace any problem files

- run an anti-spyware/malware program such as SuperSpyWare - http://www.superantispyware.com/index.html and http://www.malwarebytes.org/.

- run check disk - http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/guide-to-using-check-disk-in-windows-vista/

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Jim

Jim,

thanks for that. Im running the sfc /scannow now and will check on drivers.

I have a sneaky feeling the culprot is bitdefender 2013 anti virus, as its reportly terrible for causing ctd and constantly scanning files etc. It would make the pc hang on startup and shutdown. A quick google about it, tells me its probably the culprit.

Im quite sure its not the temps as i never have any problems on my fsx with any addons, just the pmdg x

once again thanks Jim.

Sounds like you did find the solution. I would uninstall that anti-virus program and install the free Microsoft Essentials security package. Might work better.

Best regards,

Jim

I just finished working on the NTDLL.dll problem for another member. It is memory related. Can you look through that thread - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/393560-fatal-error/ and do the things I recommended there? Also, please start a new post if you need further assistance. Name it something like NTDLL Error! Thanks.

Best regards,
