Fsx Explodes!

Featured Replies

Hi guys and fellow 737 pilots....

Finally bought the PMDG 737NGX and to my dismay, after setting up the sim, as per the manual when I load the plane FSX crashes!!!!....I have uninstalled the model three times, reviewed all the set ups necessary and Bam!!! no way it will load. I have quite a bit of models, all Captain Sim, several bought 737s and they all load fine and fly perfectly. My system is a 3.6 AMD, Ati7850, 8gig ram, 1 Tera disk half full, 600 watt PS, and it runs great giving me a constant 30-40 fps with any plane.....can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong???..at the price of this model it really makes me mad I bought it.....

Have you tried to delete the fsx.cfg file and allow FSX to rebuild it yet? (If it works you'll have to reinput your tweaks) Another thing to check is your logbook. If it got corrupted, it could cause CTD's as well.

Thanks

Tom

Each time you fly it's recorded in a file called Logbook.bin it's located in the Flight Simulator X Files sub folder in your my documents folder. If that gets corrupted, FSX will crash. If that happens just delete or rename it (I usually just rename it just in case). and FSX will rebuild a new one.

Thanks

I ran into a similar problem when I purchased the PMDG. After installing the aircraft FSX crashed any time I tried to load the 737. When the crash occurred Windows, (Vista 64) would also lock up and crash. Only a hard boot (power down and restart) would bring my computer back to life. The problem was my video card was not up to the task of running the PMDG 736, Replacing it with a GEforce 550TI fixed the problem and FSX runs smooth as silk. You might look into this issue.

There is a program that checks for corrupt entries in the logbook and fixes it.

if that down't work, try deleting it but don't lose hope: you can look for some logbook editors to get back what you had in the broken one.

there goes my 2 cents. Good luck!

Hi Nicolas.

What is that program? I do not have PMDG (lucky me) crashes so far but I have stupid FSX crashes. I wonder if that program will help me.

Thanks buddy.
