I bought the Pilotseye A380 SFO DVD a month ago and was shocked how few input it requires to bring that A380 from A to B. You see both pilots most of the time at the keyboard and the (MCDU), feeding the computet with all the required information and data.

Even as they were approaching Frankfurt and got a runway change twice, they just retyped sime stuff on the keyboard and the plane knew what runway to intercept the ILS and land at.

But that's Airbus I guess...

Well, you can pretty much switch everything off and fly the raw data but that's simply not usual on a regular "A to B" flight with PAX on board.

Airbus pilots still hold great skill and one great example is when Air Transat 236 lost most systems due to fuel starvation so the pilots manually glided for about 60 miles to the Azores, no envelope protections or even a basic autopilot.

Ha I bet! Should be out soon? Yeah I used to want the NLS A380 - not sure what happened to that, looked incredible!

If someone made a PMDG quality A380 (or close to it) I'd be in heaven but if things are going the way they are the A320 might be released close to the 777 release.

I have both the 777-200 and-300 and enjoy both DVD's

But... Can't wait to use the knowledge I gained on a PMDG 777. Like that's ever going to happen...
