How can I keep my PFD & ND remain in VC

Featured Replies

OK, I guess the title maybe not quite so easy to understand. So I'll try and explain. When I'm flying the NGX, sometimes, not always, I like to have the PFD and ND opened up to twice the size and I have them sitting in the bottom left of the VC. This is more often than not when I'm descending and starting an approach. But when I change to any other view and then return to the VC, the two instruments have popped back into the VC display. Is there any way I can retain their position so they are still positioned where I had previously dragged them when I return to the VC? Cheers guys...

I've never tried but if you right click the popup's border and chose undock window, it receives a frame and stays in place. Does that work on the NGX?

Sorry these are so poor

Top is a 28" Samsung 9000 range

Bottom is my old 24" Samsung

I love this set up as top is eye level and anything you need in below. Also a big plus is my mouse sits in the lower samsung 98% of the time so is great for keeping fps high as possable

NGX is only warm here but you get the idea.

Hey Dave, that's a real coincidence 'cos that's exactly what I've been thing of doing myself for some time. I have a spare 19" widescreen monitor and could put it to good use when I build my new sim...

Stand your 30" Dell on some thing and stick that 19" under it, just take the stand off so it sits on the base, try it out, theres no going back Howard :), like I say it helps fps also as your mouse is 98% of the time on the lower LED.

Nice one Howard, I have been wondering about that issue myself and also for the FS2Crew windows. Okay so I need a second monitor but do have an old 17" standard aspect that will probably do. Heck my daughter rarely uses it anyway :P

I think it's really important to have a second monitor Tom. I couldn't imagine flying without one, especially the NGX with so many other panels around! Hey, your daughter won't miss it, go for it B)
