November 30, 201213 yr I am trying to assign the left hidden PTT button to a the CTL button. Using the STT profile software on the Pro flight Saitek. Simple you may think? Nomally I remember when you pressed the PTT it would tell you which area to complete the assinment in. IE D, A1, A2,B1 ect. That isn't working. OK great when you hover over the boxes the illustration highlights(in blue) the button which relates to the box, and where you put the assignment. In my case I just want to link CTL with the PTT switch. It is Button 1 I think. The trouble is that the PTT button is hidden in the illustration, it is not lighting up in blue when I hover over any of the the assinment boxes. I have been struggling for a good 1.5 hours just to do this simple task. Any ideas? This software is a pile of junk. Many thanks (feeling a little feedup now, apologies for loaded post, but appreciate you advice) Julian J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s

December 1, 201213 yr Author I was having trouble with the software that comes with the Saitek Pro Yoke. Which helps you assign different buttons to different key comards. It's ok I have managed to assign the 'Push To Talk' (PTT) button to the CTL key. The CTL on the keyboard is the key I have used in Squark Box. I hope I am now making a bit more sense now? December 1, 201213 yr Author I ma trying the latest software drivers from the website. This is what I want to acheve. I want to assign the SaiteK Pro Yoke PTT switch to the CTL button, which I have assigned in SquawkBox. I went to the web site and tried to get the software for the Yoke which is called 'Smart_Technology_7_0_2_7_64bit', but the software is only giving me options to program the pedals? December 1, 201213 yr Can you open SB key settings and assign the ptt button the same way you managed to have CTL in there?... Do what you have to do to change the key, and when it asks you what key you want to use,(with yoke plugged in) just press the PTT button on the yoke???? That software never came within 20 feet of my pc when i bought a yoke.Total junk. All of my assinment are done through FSX. Regards Luke M
December 1, 201213 yr Author I know the problem. You have to plug the controllers in at the right time as you run the software. A very simple mistake for a flight simmer who can't wait to fly. I do apologies for a very rambley post. The fact that the software has changed a bit in a couple of years as well as me not using up to date drivers also made it a very confusing install. I think everything is OK. I will try the new software and see how I get on. J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s
December 1, 201213 yr I have all the Saitek kit too and to be honest, I don't install any of that Saitek software at all, its a piece of junk... I just install the drivers only, then assign everything through FSX currently, totally simple, easy to do... Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂

That's what I thought, but once I actully got it going, it seemed a bit more forgiving. A lot of the trouble is the software not reconising the controller. By unplugging it. I will try the new software for a bit. I managed to get revese thrust asigned (to my surprise) The PTT switch, in SqBox. Flaps where done in FSX Thanks Jools J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s
December 3, 201213 yr indeed, the kit does seem to require a specific install sequence of drivers > plug-in hardware.. So long as you follow the manual, it works great.. Next plan is to set it all up in FSUIPC so I can backup all the settings to save ever having to set it all up again :-) Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
