Newbie - Just confirming about Orbx PNW Low Level

Featured Replies

Hey,

How goes it everyone. I have been using PNW and Carendo planes lately, and recently I tried low level flying - my question is about PNW ground blurries, is this normal when flying under 1000 feet (I think I was flying at 300 feet) - on close up shots - the road and river is blockly, but far away shots looks so real. I am just trying to make sure everything on my system is running in tip top shape.

I do get super smooth frame rates with Eyefinity at 5670x1200 with 6970. I will posting my fsx.cfg soon, it took me many installs and tweaking in order to get this - so it will be great for AMD Radeon users on this site (stay tuned).

Please let me know your thoughts

Thanks,

Skywolf

PS - I was goofing around but after few tries, I managed to land a Cessna on top of a carrier (had to glide to it with flaps down and engines at idle to land)

Blurries are normal if your computer can't keep up with your graphics settings in FSX. ORBX scenery is extremely detailed and really at the edge of what FSX can manage as a 32 bit application. You'll just have to go down a notch and they will go away.

Also, some people will tell you to add a bucketload of stuff in the fsx.cfg. My experience is, the more you tweak the more problems you'll run into. Keep it simple. Add the HIGMEMFIX=1 tweak and nothing else. Your sim wil perform nicely and remain stable if you don't overload it with autogen, traffic and weather.
