New Throttle Issue w 737NGX

Featured Replies

Hello Everone

This one has me baffled. After several years the throttles on my Saitek Pro Flight yoke system failed and I have recently replaced it with the Saitek Cessna yoke and throttle.

The problem is that after setting it all up and everything appearing to be working fine in almost all my add on a/c, if I touch the throttles on the NGX while the autothrottle is engaged it varies the engine output momentarily even though I have the settings through the FMC so that touching the throttles should never override the autothrottle setting.

Has anyone seen this before and any idea how i can fix this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Tim Carter

Yes, I am using the Proflight Yoke and with extra throttles. The default settings within FSX are unreliable to say the least. They are okay if all you want to do is fly around all day in the cessna 172 but do not cope adequetly with multithrottle settings.

So, the answer is FSUIPC registered copy.

I deleted ALL my settings and control settings in FSX and now with FSUIPC assigned for everything I enjoy nice and extremely smooth controls for all aircraft. My nearest lever is set for the Spoilers and the furthest for the Flaps. The four in the middle are for flying all multi engined aircraft with all nicely placed in the correct place.

I hope this helps?

Hi Doorstep

I do have a registered copy of FSUIPC and only the elevator and aileron axis enabled through FSX. I will disable and see if it makes a difference but not totally convinced that this will solve the issue.

I will report back tomorrow.

I had the same issue when I had FSUIPC processing my throttles. Only way I could get it to work right was to assign the throttles in fsx and delete the fsuipc processing for both throttle axis...

If you disable all the switches and controls within FSX it will work. If you don't, it won't.

Lots of posts on this, there shouldn't be any reason you need to process throttles through FSUIPC. As stated above there must be another issue. Have you followed all of the recommendations in the introduction documentation?

Hello Everyone

I now have two completely opposite views on how to solve the problem. I have decided as I am also having some difficulties with calibration and allocation of axis through FSUIPC to delete the ini file and start with a new one. I cant seem to find it however, can someone point out the likely location of the ini andalso confirm on removal it will generate one afresh?

Many thanks

Tim

It shouldn't, but there is, at least for me. All my troubles with Saitek Pro Yoke and Pro Pedals disappeared when I deleted all mappings in FSX and set everything up in FSUIPC. The only thing I don't do in FSUIPC is calibrating. Do that in Windows and you'll be fine. And I did not install the Saitek drivers or software either.

For those interested in this thread I have tried both lots of advice ie to remove all contol from FSX and assign mapping via FSUIPC and then tried via fsx and removed all mapping via fsuipc. In the end the best result for my problem came from assigning the throttles to fsx but I do notice that i do not have the levels of throttle adjustment possible with fsuipc. Given I fly other A/C typesas well I guess I will just have to decide what is more important I suppose.

Thank you to those that contributed.

Cheers
