December 21, 201213 yr Hey there, I keep reading bits about FSUICP but aren't too sure if it applies to me. I have a standard FSX install with the below addons, all running off one system. Would I see any advantage at all in installing it? I'm not even really sure what it is...Other than an interface between software.
December 21, 201213 yr Generally, if it's required by an addon, it will tell you in the documentation. I think you'll probably need it as some point. I have the registered version and I use it to calibrate my joystick axiseses as well. I like it because you can adjust it more, and you can create a profile for different airplanes. For example, you may choose to have the mixture axis control the flaps when flying jet, or something like that; so whenever you load a jet, FSUIPC assigns the correct profile. There are lots of added features that are worth having. Jim Shield Cybersecurity Specialist
December 21, 201213 yr Hi Luke. Adam is right, if you are going to expand your FSX, you will need it. There is no need to learn a lot about FSUIPC when installing and it works "by itself" if needed for a add on. The benefit as Adam says is that you can configurer settings as you like, and much more then in FSX. That means you have to read how to...as for any manual. Regards Goran Arvnell
December 21, 201213 yr A new and important feature since a few weeks is also that the FSUIPC module patches an old and persistent bug in the FSX ground behavior of especially GA aircraft during touchdown or taxiing. Especially during the landing most aircraft had a unrealistic 'side slipping' or skidding behaviour even on a dry runway. So this lack of side friction is now fixed. First in a patch by Johan Dees and later on implemented in FSUIPC. (Peter Dowson) See: http://forum.avsim.n...round-friction/ Download FSUIPC here: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html It's very easy to install in FSX and to make this friction cure work (even for the free version of FSUIPC), just follow the short manual. Peter Dowson is one of the gods that watch over FSX, so you can of course buy the pay version to, then you can adjust all settings of every aircraft seperately and callibrate or adjust extra hardware like joysticks, yoke, pedals, throttle handles, lots of buttons, etc more easily ! With kind regards, Bart S.
