I own RXP 430 and 530 and now bought the B55 from you...

Featured Replies

Bought the B55 today!

I have not tried anything yet. Is there a step by step to get the RXP's in? I own 430 and the 530 but not crossfed.

All I see is that I have a RXP_Panel.cfg file. Now what.

Charles.

The RXP GNS's come with a config tool to integrate them in any plane as a 2D popup.

If you want more control, and if you want to integrate in VC's, I suggest you get FS Panel Studio if you can afford: http://www.fspanelstudio.com/

Makes integrating gauges into panels a breeze

See this thread for the panel.cfg that I use. Scroll down a bit until you see the posting from me: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/378329-any-news-on-the-beechcraft-b55-sp/page__st__25

Usual disclaimers apply - back up your existing panel.cfg first.

I'd recommend using the RXP tool to get the RXP config file built or I can show you how mine is set if you're not familiar with setting up both. Let me know if you have specific questions and enjoy the new Baron!

Thank you for the reply. I own fspanel studio. I use it. I have put the RXP into a few older carenado models. I have embedded the 430 in the Carenado F33 without too much trouble. I have a basic working knowledge of the process but probably could know more.

I have lots of planes with integration included like the C90 and B200 from Carenado and the Dukes of course. All no problems there.

Just did not see a "readme" anywhere discussing the reason the RXP_panel.cfg exists and if was simply a "back the old" and "rename the RXP one". Tried that and it did nothing but give me dead looking GPS's. Restored from the start. Ran the config tool. Started a flight and confirmed a pop up worked. So I then renamed the panel files. Nothing. Dead GPS's again.

So I was wondering what the dev had up thier sleeve or in mind when they created that file. I'll go read that other thread I guess.

Thanks.

I would love to know why the supplied one fails to work. Thanks for the link. I have not yet tried yours. I will go have a look. I wish someone could explain what was wrong with the supplied one though and what was expected of Joe consumer to get this working. They went through the trouble of creating a system for swapping to a 3D bezel that fits RXP when autodetect of RXP happens so just a little more guidance would prevent the threads comming from those that are not panel config editing types like me. I will have to learn more about it I think.

We don't supply you with any thing auto to make it fit. That may be what comes with RXP but I know not.

We don't sorry to say it again, support 3rd party products... even good ones.

We do TRY very hard to make our stuff compatible and easy to work with but...

I know but you supplied a file in your install called RXP_Panel.cfg so I assumed it would have some instructions on what to do with it. No worries though. I'll get it.

The supplied RXP_panel.cfg will work, IF you remember to comment out every instance of the supplied GNS530 and GNS430. For some reason, a few of the 2d instances weren't commented out in the supplied RXP_panel.cfg file...
