December 26, 201213 yr The problem with flightradar, is having to maintain the database. Especially domestic (US) or intra European flights like to juggle with call signs, for operational reasons. Mode S/C or ADS-B does not have the option of origin-destination fields, so they can't read that data from the plane itself. The only way to have at least an idea, is to look at which route had the same call sign before, and use it again. For long haul flights, this method is perfect, since they hardly ever swap callsigns around. For shorter hops, it doesn't always work. Name available upon request
December 26, 201213 yr Via ADS-B receivers, sometimes Mode-S or Mode-C data is added in, but ADS-B alone should be sufficient. I am running a fairly basic SBS-3 setup. Name available upon request
