  1. I am not eager to please as most of people here. Since you ask for the best: Flightbeam FSDREAMTEAM (avoid KLAS, they are soon remaking it) ORBX Taxi2Gate (Seattle and Orlando) The rest is not up there yet in my opinion. Flytampa make good sceneries today, but older should be avoided.
  2. One detail no one has mentioned about this airplane that I like, is that you have succeeded to make it look heavy. If you look at 747 on youtube and live, you can see on the ground that she looks very heavy and "clumpsy", a detail that products before has failed. I hope you understand what I am trying to say, I am really impressed and looking forward to this product
  3. It would be more fun to have a camera and see their expression when he put the bag och the desk and said "I would like to do a withdrawal". In the 90's in Sweden once I got a check for 98 öre, that's about 12 cent. It would cost me almost $3 to get those 12 cent. Me and the casher had a lot of fun about that check. She suggested that I called a security company, because of the risk getting robbed if I withdraw everything at once.
  4. If I ever get rich as Bill Gates, I will pay that amount just to see their faces. After ask where my airplane is
  5. Agreeing with Kyle with one note too add. No matter what aircraft you fly, if you lose one engine (or more), you always try to land. That's safety. A pilot don't know the whole scenario why an engine fails. If it's an oil leak, pilot doesn't know if it's bad maintenance or another reason. So you always try to land before all engines is out. But a four engine is always safer than two engine. You can lose three engines and still have one engine with thrust enough for cruise. On a twin, if you lose one, you only got one left, after you got a $100 million+ glider.
  6. I can access it, and I'm in China. Try to update the page. If still not successful, try to do a tracert and see where it fails. http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles-tutorials/trouble/Using-Tracert.html
  7. Stealing your thread a bit here. I like the idea of OC, but I have big issues. I live in China, and it's almost impossible to update it. Liveries works, even though it's dead slow. One livery takes about 30 minutes to download. But updating OC is hell. I downloaded and installed latest version of 777 about 4 days ago. I have tried to update OC since then several times, without success. It close down after 3 unsuccessful attempts.
  8. Gott nytt år - Happy new year - 新年快乐 From 15°C southern China. May the 747 bring a lot of happiness this year
  9. There are still some issues with sode for example. There's a new version out, but airport must be compiled with the new version. You can't just update Sode.
  10. FSDreamteam: Any product is excellent. Aerosoft: EGLL is very good. LIRF have potential to be very good, but need some issues fixed first. Mallorca (latest version) is also good. Flytampa: YSSY is really good, EKCH also. Taxi2Gate: VHHH is good. Don't know if P3Dv3 is out yet. Overland: RKSI, old and only for FSX, but still high class even today.
  11. Thank you for your answer, very insightful. By mathematical standard, they can only predict weather within a few hours with accurasy, three days within an acceptable tolerance of error. When you see a 10 day forecast on the news, their guesses are barely better than your own. But I got some real good and valuable information from all writers here. Thank you.
  12. Thank you for your answer . On long haul, if the airplane have ACARS and wind is way off, is it common that pilots interact on it, or do they let it be as it is?
  13. Thank you for you answer. Of course I know they don't have ASNext in a real airplane. But it would be more accurate if you filled in correct wind during flight also. If used correct, a company could save a lot om fuel money in a long haul, by maybe flying at FL300 instead of FL360 at the end of flight during wind condition. But I am not a pilot, so I don't know, that's why I wondering .
  14. Jag trodde forumet var på engelska (thought this forum was English) Trevligt att stöta på före detta grannar
  15. Besides flying myself, I occationally enjoy watching videos of other skilled simmers out there. It's interesting and sometimes I pick up something new I haven't thought about before. I have been flying FS since FS95, but still have a lot to learn. One thing I have noticed is that people load weather into FMC during the preflight, and just fly. But that will give incorrect values. I don't know if ASNext gives the wind data at that exact moment or if it try to predict (anyone here knows? I guess it only gives at the actual moment), but if you fly a longhaul, values will become very inactual. I am loading all wind data during preflight, but I am also updating it during the flight. How do you do it? How do they do it in "real life"? I made a reference flight with 772 EGLL-YSSY without updating until moments before TOD to check this out, and values did really differ.
  16. I agree with you about 747 overhead. I even miss the stereos and remote controls from the 80's. It was not so much about how good the product was, it was about how many buttons it had
  17. Have you tried to open a support ticket?
  18. I was under the impression that porn wasn't allowed in this forum. :Shame On You:
  19. Life as a programmer and software developer is not that easy. I will explain why, and note, I am not pointing at any company or product. PMDG develops very good and nice airplanes. They have very skilled programmers that develops very complex system, and they develop a SDK, allowing other products to interact with their. Sometimes they must contact other companies, because they want to interact with their products. In this example we take an imaginary company, FsxRUs. FsxRUs have one very good product, and they also have very excellent programmers. They start to integrate their product with PMDG. Problem here is that PMDG use one part of FSX engine code, while FsxRUs use another part. That means FsxRUs developer are exploring new codes they haven't worked with before. It means it will be a lot of try-and-error before they understand it. After some time FsxRUs decide their product is ready to be sold. Soon several users discover that if they activate a function in FsxRUs product, it accidentally disconnect the autopilot in your airplane. Lets say that it is happening when you press Ctrl+alt+6. The first thing users will do is to contact PMDG and say their software has a bug. PMDG start to test it. Maybe 3-4 people start to testing it for 8 hours. That's 32 working hour, each hour is costing PMDG $100 at least. They can't reproduce the problem. User gets frustrated and starts to write in different forum that PMDG products are bad. Some people maybe believe what that user is writing, and avoid PMDG's products for wrong reason. After some time, they discover that the problem is in FsxRUs product. But PMDG already got the badwill and a great cost for something they are not involved in. I am not involved with PMDG in any way, besides being a long time customer, and I don't have knowledge about their internal operations. This example above is very general, but I think that anyone who is a programmer know what I am talking about. I would also like more products to be integrated in FSX and P3D world, but companies like PMDG need to be careful and restrictive with their cooperations, like they are today. After all, it's because they are so picky, their products are so appretiated. And to clarify again, this has nothing to do with REX or any other specific vendors.
  20. Yes, things work little different in China, sometimes it's good, sometimes bad. Chain of comand is very important. An employee must do as the boss say, no matter how stupid or strange order it is. As you wrote, SFO incident was such an example. That leads to low level of innovation from the workers. But there are many, complex, things that makes people like that. People here are not interested in that .
  21. I rarely write here, but I will do an exception today . I have been thinking about these automated things many times. It started many years ago when I flew to Soviet. I think that pilot used to be a military pilot. Pilots with that background are often the best pilots. When arriving to TOD of UUEE, he must have flown manually all the way down. Normally you feel when they start to descend, but not in this case. I didn't feel anything. Only indication of descend was by looking at the altitude at the monitor. He didn't touch the throttles at all until he used reversers. The plane was very stable during the entire approach. I am not a pilot or similar, but I have been flying a lot in my life. I have never met a more skilled pilot than that pilot. And that have inspired me when I fly 747 and 777 in simulator. I am almost always trying to fly entire approach manually. Some airport are easier than others (Some approaches to EHAM can be challenging). Now I am living in China, and pilots here don't concern very much about passengers comfort. When they land a 737 at Beijing, they hit the reverser so hard, so it's almost like hitting into a wall. Even KLM 747 don't use reversers as much when they land on the same runway. I bet they have an internal competition: Who can use the shortest runway when they land. But I hope I will meet a skilled pilot someday again like that Aeroflot pilot.
  22. You might want to upgrade ASNext if you use it.
  23. I had similar problem. I think it is in the order you activate it. I started with 777-300. Same issue all the time. After some time, when the few brain cells start to work, I loaded 777-200 and activated it. It worked.
