  1. Well, reading this topic really shows why PMDG never gives release dates.
  2. I wish all people a Merry Christmas and happy flying duing the holidays.
  3. Hehe, don´t worry, I also enjoyed that show. The joke was rather that it´s a product that is very far from what PMDG do.
  4. Don´t tell anyone, but there´s a rumor about mr Randazzo hiding in a dark alley with three bags of popcorn and a full collection of Airwolf. It´s a secret project
  5. So, if we are not in USA, you hope we have a terrible Thanksgiving holiday? 😱 Sorry, couldn´t resist 😛
  6. You are misunderstanding me :). The point wasn't to point fingers. As you said, there could be many reasons for the issue. Since I live in China, the Internet connection is bad and could have corrupted an update or something. Just pointing out that something like this seems to be able to cause those problems. Might also be the FSDT update that cause some problem in the beginning, I don't know. Just adding a point to that checklist you gave me since it seems to solved my problem. 🙂
  7. I know what you are saying. But all started after I updated PMDG and FSDT products. I tried to reinstall all things. Eventually I reinstalled to a fresh Win 10 and reinstalled P3D and 747-400 and -8. When I tried to update it, only a few small files was downloaded. But when I tried today, one file 200MB+ in size was downloaded. After that it worked. I had it running for two hours now without any issues. Before CTD arrived 5 minutes after I had started the simulation.
  8. In this case it was actually you. All started when I run update for 747. For two days the issue kept on going, even then I installed it on a fresh system. Today it finally worked. Some updates actually came through today that wasn't there yesterday. But now it's solved.
  9. Recently I get CTD after 5 minutes with PMDG 747. I have a clean installation and no addons installed. When I choose a plane from P3D, there's no problem. 10. I don't. I used CI from link below. But since distance and GS was the same when the route was the same, it can't have differed much. Difference was when we choose different path. https://www.scribd.com/document/374519450/Cost-Index-Database-2017
  11. I tried something different recently, and I have learned a lot from it. Two days ago I preformed DLH418 flight EDDF-KIAD. I used max load in my 748 and put in fuel so I would have 12 000 kg when I land in Dulles. Looking at live weather in active sky, I choose a western route into northern France. Near Reims, I turned nort-northwest towards England, passing Folkestone near Dover. I went little more north and turned west, passing south of London and just outside northern Bristol, and from there towards Shannon. I couldn't find the gate that Flightradar24 said was the correct one, so I chose a different gate. I waited for the real airplane to show up. I don't know what payload they had or their fuel planning. I used the same runway as they did. I took of about three minutes ahead of the real airplane according to Flightradar24. The real airplane choose a different route. It went north-northwest towards Cologne and Amsterdam, passed little north of London. They went to same flight level as me. My route was actually better than theirs. I measured it in GS. My GS was around 455-460, while theirs was around 430. When I turned north in France, my groundspeed decreased to about 435-440. At the same time, they started heading west and increased GS to 445-450. Over England, when I turned west again, my GS increased to 460 again. Using Shannon as a checkpoint, I arrived 7 minutes before the real airplane. After that it went more bad. I choose a more southern NAT than they did. Arriving Canada, I was just 4 minutes ahead of them. GS was almost the same in both aircrafts, with their aircraft slightly faster at some parts of the route. In US, we had the same route and same GS, and I landed 5 minutes before him according to Flightradar24. It was very interesting to se what effect different routes can have. I realize that there are some details that might vary in the simulator from "irl", but still fun. I can recommend this instead of just copying a route from a website. You learn a lot from it.
  12. Better to ask here first since I might be wrong (which was the case here) 🙂
  13. I accidentally discovered recently that you can fly high altitudes with packs off without anny issues. No warning, no release of oxygen masks as in 747-400. Just the white text informing that packs is off.
  14. A good option is to use a small VPN provider with few users. If you use a VPN in a country there they dont speak Chinese or English is even better. They rarely notice those services. I have used my provider for five years now.
