December 24, 201213 yr Just saw this released over on the x-plane.org store; http://store01.prostores.com/servlet/x-planestore/Detail?no=436 I'm sure there will be some level of comparison with the also just released Aerosoft Airbus Extended in FSX but looks impressive! Good price too for what it offers. EDIT: found some additional good detail here: http://airbus320neo.com/ Danny Hicks
December 24, 201213 yr it looks amazing, BUT so many awesome planes being released but why can't we have some seasonal textures, lol the whole planet is green in December and the weird part is that snow is modeled in xp10 but it won't stay on the ground. I love these payware planes but it's so boring to fly them over the same green textures worldwide. I heard that in 2013 we might get seasonal textures.

December 24, 201213 yr Great plane but where the (beep) is the manual? Got it started okay but need a bit more detail on the FMS. Looks like you can use either Aerosoft or PSS nav data, both of which are provided. To update one should just need to point the NavDataPro program at the plane folder.
December 24, 201213 yr Author Have a feeling the seasons will happen once the art assets have been finalised - but hoping that doesn't take too long considering how many recent core updates have been occuring recently. This along with FlyJsim and JRollon has made for a good Christmas selection Great plane but where the (beep) is the manual? Got it started okay but need a bit more detail on the FMS. Looks like you can use either Aerosoft or PSS nav data, both of which are provided. To update one should just need to point the NavDataPro program at the plane folder. There's a link to docs on the 2nd link I posted - http://airbus320neo.com/docs/ Some good video tutorials in the flying school section as well. Danny Hicks
December 25, 201213 yr I heard that in 2013 we might get seasonal textures. I 'm not so certain if we can even expect such a feature in the XP 10 time frame. If you want to find a good solution several features of X-Plane 10 might pose an interesting challenge for such a feature.. Karsten Schubert
December 25, 201213 yr Just doing my first flight with this baby. I was trying to figure out why the cockpit lighting wasn't working; it seems you need HDR enabled! Not too difficult to fly as I did many miles in the Airbus X, but there are some cool features that I'm just discovering such as the checklists etc. B)
December 25, 201213 yr If you're using a TrackIR you may find it useful to modify the default cockpit viewpoint. Here's mine... Once you do get going it's just a wonderful machine.
December 25, 201213 yr Just bought it and it looks like it will be great! No realistic FMS? Airbus don't call it "FMS". It is MCDU and FMGS. I believe it has a somewhat realistic MCDU and also seems to have a working ADIRS system. I see it has Flight Control Logic too. This may be a very good Airbus. I really hope so. Simulated Systems and Custom FMS FMGS: basic lateral and vertical navigation with Airbus-Thales style MCDU, single flightplan operation, sid/star and transition reading, icao-format flightplan for co-route (routefinder compatible), basic time and fuel prediction, alt constr available. FADEC: CFM56 Airbus logic with manual and autothrottle mode, FLX temp selection, Engine limit protection, Engine automatic starting, Power management, Engine data for cockpit indication, Engine condition parameters, Thrust reverser control and feed back, Fuel recirculation control. Automatic Flight System: full FCU controled and PFD indicated managed and selected modes, CAT3 autoland, ILS and visual approach available. Other simulated systems: PFD, ND, EIS2 ECAM upper display, EIS2 ECAM lower display, Multipurpose Control and Display Units (MCDU), Radio Management Panel (RMP), Management and Guidance Computers (FMGC), Electrical System, Hydraulic System, Braking System, Fuel System, FADEC, APU, Air condition/ventilation/pressurisation System, Caution and Warning System, Ice and Rain Protection, Oxygen System. Another good thing. I just read that it used "NavDataPro" dataset from Aerosoft for nav updating. (: Robert Yunque

I think it only has a basic and default level of MCDU simulation. Is that right? Zicheng Cai
December 25, 201213 yr Check out http://www.airbus320.../flying-school/ It describes some about the MCDU. I believe it is more than just a basic model and it looks like much will be added as time goes on. It says it has basic LNAV and VNAV and stuff like step climbs, will be added later. It can also do fuel/weight predictions. It shows that in the video. It looks like you can manually enter the complete flight plan with SIDs and STARs into the MCDU, or, if you like, you can do it by entering the flight plan string like from Routefinder or Flightsim Commander. The right side does have the default FMS. This looks, to be as complex as the AirbusX Extended, which is pretty darn good. Robert Yunque

December 26, 201213 yr I have BBS, Aerosoft, Wilco and Peter Hager's A32x, and wonder if it is worthwhile to get one more. I'm in flight with it now and it is very impressive. Very good Airbus system simulation plus lots of good extra features like ground power cart, push back tractor (you control pushback), FO voice runs checklist, FA announcements (realistically low volumn), good engine sounds, working ADIRS, pretty nicely made made VC (not quite as good as AirbusX Extended, but almost), door management controls and more . Most Airbus sims I've got, the thrust levers with FADEC have been a pain to setup. This requires no extra steps other than the normal throttle lever mapping. Also, I'm a big fan of flying in virtual cockpits with TrackIR. This one works great that way. I don't believe Peter Hagar's A320 has any virtual cockpit. Just his A380, because someone else made it for him. I think it is well worth getting. I'm enjoying it very much. He still has some work to do on it. For one thing, it is not showing a TD mark and I don't see any HOLD function. There is no DIR TO button. There is a little problem with the speed brakes because when they are armed, the TO CONF memo shows like they are not. I had to push the altitude knob to get a managed decent, but I'm sure this will all be added. He said he has more to add on it. It hand flies like a dream too. Robert Yunque
December 26, 201213 yr I had to push the altitude knob to get a managed decent I read somewhere that this is normal for Airbuses (I'll see if I can dig it out) Apparently one is supposed to preset the altitude for descent then press the button at T/D. If you do it a little before or after it will compensate.
