December 26, 201213 yr I followed ALL the instructions contained in the tutorial (JS41Start Up Guide), but I can't accelerate and in several times, motors shutt off alone! May be my software is "broken" (??) I need some help. please
December 26, 201213 yr but I can't accelerate and in several times, motors shutt off alone! Are the start locks removed? After you start the engines, pull them slowly into reverse until you hear "Start locks removed". Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
December 26, 201213 yr the message will only happen if you have FS2Crew for the JS41. For sure I don't have FS2Crew, but I do hear the message. After engine start (both), pull back slowly one throttle level after the other until you hear 'Start locks removed'. If you don't hear it, you haven't put in the start locks while shutting down the engines before. Follow the instructions: Again in reverse while shutting down the engines. (RTFM) Redo the full manual. And watch out the page where PMDG state that it will fill the forum... {Pilot Tutorial pdf: '(Anyone want to make bets as to how many forum posts we see on this topic? December 26, 201213 yr Author I've read the manual. I'm starting JS41 in cold & black state. I've made all operations above. I don't know waht FS2Crew is... Just in time: I'm using FSX
December 26, 201213 yr You don't need FS2Crew, although it is a good product. After starting, and before taxiing, take an external look at your spinning props edge on. As you increase torque the prop disc should thicken as the blade angle increases. If it remains a thin disc then your start locks are holding the props in the position were there is not angle and hence minimum "bite" into the air and the least resistance to spinning which is what is required for starting. Hope this helps. Don't worry, getting this part down has tripped many beginners to the JS41 Dan Downs KCRP
December 26, 201213 yr Author OK, I'll try once more... As one could say: commom evil is consolation
December 27, 201213 yr Are the gust locks out? If not, you cannot push forward the throttles.
