December 28, 201213 yr Author guys, thanks for the feedback, i think it might have been my mistake, i looked at topcat again. Remember topcat is supposed to predict the optimum take off config for your situation with weights and balances etc you can select a particular flap config but i normally allow it to optimise that variable. i must have selected the wrong runway with a tailwind, which made some extreme flaps config since i checked it out last night, lowi runway 8 was flaps 25 but no derate TO, runway 26 was flaps 5 with 35C (or something like that) TO derate i'll probably try to go no more than 15 for takeoff in future cheers
December 29, 201213 yr The problem with TOPCAT and LOWI is, TOPCAT can not really take the hills and required climb into account due to unique procedures in and around INN. If you write here all the data that had you depart on 25 flaps, I can run it through a calc made with this in mind. btw. I sometimes take an empty 737 and confuse the crap out of ATCs online by requesting intersection departures with 800m RWY left Flaps 25 work well in these cases. --Peter Fabian
December 29, 201213 yr F25 is a 737NG takeoff setting for runway-limited performance. Why any doubt? Matt Cee
