That's really really cool. Thanks for sharing

Lets hope he doesn't get indoor rain. You never know, the ways of art are unpredictable. -_-

By the way, we should post that one in the FSX forum too. Proper overcast simulation, if you know what I mean. :P

Back in the 1960's there were several incidences of oil tankers (of the floating maritime variety) exploding mysteriously without warning, or apparently reason.

They eventually found the cause was when these vessels were conducting tank cleaning operations with high pressure hot water cleaning systems conditions inside the tank were such that the clouds of steam were becoming electrically charged - in effect creating a thunder cloud inside the huge cargo tanks on the tanker. The static electricity would discharge, creating a spark which would ignite the hydrocarbon vapours in the tank, causing a large and invariably disastrous explosion.

The result being we now usually inert the atmosphere with carbon dioxide or sometimes nitrogen in order to avoid having an explosive atmosphere inside the tank.

Back when I was a cadet and learning about all this stuff before setting off on the high seas I was shown a video from an experiment conducted to show the process of a thunder cloud forming in a tank and creating lightning bolts. Really interesting stuff.

Impressive.....Wilhelm Reich's Cloudbuster comes to mind seeing that.

:LMAO: Good one! In the meantime, until the fix arrives, avoid flying near thunderstorms.

Maybe we can spread a rumour about CloudFlow.
