January 5, 201313 yr Moderator Interesting that in the video, it makes heavy use of third-party products to make it look decent, i.e. OrbX, ReX. I'd be pretty angry if I bought this not knowing than I then had to spend more cash on plugins, as the default scenery, weather etc is awful

I thought the video was great, thanks for posting that. Keep in mind that the word "training" in this case has a specific meaning to government, commercial and military clients. If they feel the need to get upgraded graphics and such, that's their decision and for the most part they won't mind spending the necessary money. It's a molecule in a drop in the bucket compared to doing the cost of doing the same training live. Considering the process these clients go though before purchasing a training solution, they'll know very well far ahead of time if they'll need additional resources. And considering the budgets involved, buying everything available for a specific mission in a specific region will cost about as much to them as a pack of gum costs to you. The real costs will come in the form of customizations they'll need to contract from LM, and that's where LM's real profits will come from. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! January 6, 201313 yr The default scenery is better than FSX tho not by much. the weather is the same, except there is not a real weather option and all FSX/P3D options work fine for me. I used cloud texture and add-ons in FSX, I have simply transferred them over. For me it is my sim of choice. KInd regards, Ian McPhail
January 6, 201313 yr It's a molecule in a drop in the bucket compared to doing the cost of doing the same training live. The cost of the software will also be a drop in the bucket compared to the overall cost of setting up and running the training programme using simulation. Gerry Howard
