If you got the latest permanent cache, you won't have any trouble with this. As a matter of fact, I landed in the same place today as yesterday after finding both.

The AotD is positioned at Kakeha Falls.

 

Aimoo Falls is on the opposite side of the valley, (west).

Yes, vary familiar area to say the least. Grabbed it and headed back to Waimea-Kohala right at sunset, beautiful. Sitting on the runway, engine off, just listening to the gyro winding down 'in my imagination'. One of the real world sounds that I really miss.

Right you are. I was surprised when I was looking left and it popped up on the right as I heading down the canyon toward the sea!

Well, I wasn't going to start my flight at Waimea again - been there, done that! I began at Upolu instead, and took the Icon this time.

 

 

 

 

Flying over the turbines reminds me that I never got the Gold here. I shall have to go back when I can find the time.

 

 

 

 

The Icon looks great in its element - air and sea.

Well that was fun. I took off from Waimea at night, knowing exactly where to go, but while I was in the air I realized the Cub was down to 1% fuel remaining. Hmm, wonder if I can make it? I cut the throttle to 50%, just got into the valley, and ran out of fuel. BING! Got the "Fuel Abuse" award. Flaps down, nose up, where's that cache? Aha! Floated down, grabbed it, then a nice, soft, quiet landing in the valley below. Very pretty.
