Hi there,I think maybe I've posted to you earlier but it's getting difficult to keep up and stay up. It's late here and I'm tired.Still, as you have not any FREEWARE TEXTUERS AT ALL FOR WATER I think you would really appreciate what FS Water does for you.I think you may be suprised.Peter

It is the colour that essentially has been changed in FS Water. The change to the texures are very subtle. Less subtle is the reflections but there are 11 of these textures and then there is the sky, which reflects and then the season, and the time of day all of which affects the look of the water and also where.Put all this together and presto you'll be testing FS Water out for months on end. As I did and continue to do. (smile)FS Water's mission is to make the water look more convincing and realistic and the primary reason for FS9 to fail here was the incorrect use of colour and of the reflections.Peter

Hello, I have been reading this Forum and the Flight 1 Forums since I saw the product announcement on the front page. I confess, I waffled back and forth like a politicion regarding whether to buy, or not to buy. Well, as a long time satisfied customer of Flight 1. I decided to take the plunge. Because of their refund policy, I did not feel I had anything to lose. For the record I was using a set of freeware add on textures. I do not want to say which ones, because I am not comfortable criticizing a person's "labor of love" that they share out of the kindness of their heart. The biggest complaint I had about most of the freeware I tried, was the "breathing effect" the water seemed to have at the max setting. I did not like that, but I did like having the water detail cranked up.Since I have purchased the Flight 1 water textures, I have flown around different regions for about Two hours. My opinion is obviously based on that limited amount of time using the product. So far I am happy with it. I observed a subtle wave effect without the "breathing". It seems like the "waves" are most noticeable when looking straight down. The reflections seem a little more subdued than the freeware, but I do not see that as a bad thing. I like the colors. I think they look more realistic than anything I have seen to date.I like the product and I will continue to use it. Mind you this is just my opinion, obviously yours may be different. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just wanted to weigh in on the debate.NickP.S.For the attention of any payware developers out there. My credit card and I are waiting for somebody to create accurate US coastline, inland lakes, and rivers. If you can do for coastlines, what Flight 1 did for roads... I will buy!!! :-)

Sounds good! Thanks for your input. I plan on buying it in a couple of weeks, I already blew my strict monthly flightsimming budget on the Aeroworx Beech 2000. FS water is next on my list. Looking forward to trying it out.

Thanks for the vote Nick,I would be happy to look at reducing the breathing effect if this is important to you.Peter

Peter,Thank you for the response and offer to look into the breathing effect of the water. Fortunately that effect is not that pronounced with the textures you created. I realize there are limitations with FS9 that cannot be overcome. I can accept that there is a trade off between wave motion effects and the pulsating appearance the goes with it. It appears that you have struck an acceptable balance that makes virtual VFR flying more realistic. Thank you.Nick

>I have to say that while it has some good assets like easy install, water is pretty, I feel like I wasted my >money. $15.00 is a bit much when there is plenty of good freeware around. These seem to be the two advertised qualities of the product. Where you expecting something else for your money?

Thanks for all of the great comments and support guys. A big thanks for giving it an opportunity on your systems. The overwhelming reponse has been positive with everyone who has seen it. Again, thanks to everybody for their comments about Flight One and FS Water.Best Regards,Tom MainFlight One Software

Those comparisons look good! Thanks Tom!

Hi, Purchaed FsWater today. I see a big thread about it. I have spent about 1 hour with this program. I have to say that while it has some good assets like easy install, water is pretty, I feel like I wasted my money.$15.00 is a bit much when there is plenty of good freeware around. I don't mean to be rude but when one is not really happy with something, this is a forum to speak about flight sim. issues I suppose. Perhaps it should have been a "try before you buy" release. Thank you, S.Yes, from what I've seen and your opinion solidifies the fact my $15 ($20 Canadian) would be better spent somewhere else.

For the umpteenth time... REFUND! 30 DAYS!Sheesh.Greg

Anyone care to bet that the OP will ask for and receive a refund, yet will continue to use the product afterwards?Hmmm, more interested to see how you came up with this inference since the poster didn't even mention he wanted a refund in his original post. Indeed, he appears to have been oblivious to the refund policy.Relatedly, when I purchased Ultimate Traffic and didn't like it (much prefer MyTraffic 2004), I asked for and received my refund from F1. I promptly deleted every last entry related to UT (happily). There are honest people in this world. It seems because the poster didn't like the product he is castigated and given an oblique motive. I guess disatisfied customer equates to dishonest customer - at least for you?
