January 15, 201313 yr Maybe this is just me? But I have been testing this for 45 Minutes now, and have come to the conclusion that OPUSFSX is causing me problems. (The latest version only) I got the latest updated version, and for some reason now when I start opusfsx server, my computer becomes really slow. Like it will take 10 minutes to even get past administrator access! Normally lighting fast, I did lots of tests (disabed antivirus, looked at processes, malware scan), and the only culprit is Opus. I restarted, started FSX and everything is normal. Started Opus, my computer acts up again. Very weird. Any ideas?

They will respond within minutes most of the time. They are in Europe so remember the time difference. January 15, 201313 yr Not only that but I think the owner got mad about how so many people badger him here. It's not right the way some people treat these developers when they truly do a service to our hobby. January 15, 201313 yr That's kind of sad to hear. I'm not a Opus customer (yet), but I'm very much interested because of the exceptional customer support they provide. Jarkko Puustinen (FSX live streamer, YouTuber) http://www.twitch.tv/virtualfreightdog http://www.youtube.com/user/VirtualFreightDog

But after you pay $40 something, I think you deserve support. And good support. I think Opus Support is great however.
January 15, 201313 yr Did something happen? Did Stephan and Cheryl stop using this forum? I agree they were both treated kind of bad by some. Their service is great though. Lee
January 15, 201313 yr Did something happen? Did Stephan and Cheryl stop using this forum? Lee I don't think they stopped using it....more a matter of trying to keep their customer service stuff coming to one place...their forum. Makes it much easier to answer questions and fix problems for everyone. January 15, 201313 yr You do deserve good support, and you'll get it. But no one deserves attitude or presumptuous statements. Some folks would get on here and make bold accusations that were borderline defaming. I felt awful for their group. And I haven't seen too much of them around lately but it's not to say they aren't here. I personally felt maybe a small minority was quick to be pretty aggressive towards them. What folks forget is people like this family run Opus aren't millionaires off this product. You spend thousands of hours developing something and usually receive less than a fair profit in return. I know of some developers of very expensive addons I won't name that get badgered about their prices... But forget that someone spends 6 days a week full time working on it with no other income. That sort of thing. January 15, 201313 yr Yeah it's too bad some people felt the need to treat them so poorly. I felt bad for them too sometimes.
January 15, 201313 yr Its a real shame if certain individuals have been giving a bad attitude towards Opus devs. It means alot when customer service is this good. Makes the product even better. They provide excellent support and a great product that keeps getting better. Kind Regards Simon.
January 15, 201313 yr Commercial Member Hi guys Thanks for the support, we are still answering posts on AVSIM but you will get a quicker answer on our official Flight1 forum. @Chase, you are pretty much on the button with your comments, apart from the fact we work 7 days per week not 6! @Scarlett, we are not aware of any problem with the latest software, are you downloading the GRIB data? Perhaps your system is having a problem accessing the data online, try disabling that option and see if the problem still happens. Otherwise it could be a corrupt download, so try downloading OpusFSX again. Let me know how you get on. Regards Cheryl
January 15, 201313 yr Commercial Member Hi Scarlett I have already answered in SimForum but just in case ... You could try downloading and upgrading to either the release again (I rebuilt it and reposted it just in case since we have had corrupted uploads before), or you could try the new beta 2.81.0, also posted today. If it happens again have a look at your Spy window to see what is going on, it could be a problem with your Internet download or something like that. Regards Stephen
January 15, 201313 yr Commercial Member I have posted a beta ZIP file underneath the beta box just in case the MSI is not downloading correctly. Stephen P.S. might be better to try this just in case you are downloading a virus or something. There is nothing wrong with our server, I have downloaded and installed it and many others have reported everything is OK. But as far as I can tell there are two of you getting the same symptoms. The other person reports problems even before running FSX or OpusFSX. Hence the worry that a server has corrupted or infected the download. The ZIP might be OK since you can just extract into your OpusFSX install folder.
