August 13, 200421 yr How far are we with the forthcoming FS9 patch/update? Are the beta testers allowed to tell anything?Jayjay
August 13, 200421 yr What patch/update? As far as I know there isn't one.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. August 13, 200421 yr Patch? What patch, don't need no Patch! LOL ;-)Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
August 13, 200421 yr Yeah, I actually agree with you Michael. As it is, I feel that there is only one thing in FS9 that could do with patching, that is the seasonal terrain mask class CTD bug, that is definatly a bug, and should "really" be fixed, although there are work arounds available.Apart from that little buglet, I would say FS9 is very stable, I would also be inclinded to say that 99% of problems people have could be traced back to various addons, and/or hardware/driver issues.I very, very much doubt there will be a patch for FS9, I just hope their will be an FS10 ;)(ducks for cover :-lol)Dan.
August 13, 200421 yr You wanna bet, Doug? A bottle of champaign or 2?Jayjay Jean-Jacques Struyf between EBBR and EBCI
August 13, 200421 yr Yes Dan, this seasonal CTD is really a pain for most of us. Do you really believe that Microsoft wouldn't try to solve this pblm with a patch? FS10 is still far away. Contrary to what people think and say about Microsoft, I am sure they want their customers to remain happy with FS9.Jayjay Jean-Jacques Struyf between EBBR and EBCI
August 13, 200421 yr The seasonal CTD, is reasonably easy to cure, this is why I dont believe MS will patch FS9.There just isnt really anything else that is in need of patching.Of course this is my personal opinion, and may have varying milage with others ;)Dan.
August 13, 200421 yr The patch will be out next year, it won't be free, but the file will be called FS10.exe.
August 13, 200421 yr Sure. I'm hanging around here all the time. When the patch comes out just post a reminder for me and I'll send you a bottle. It'll certainly be a bit older by then :-) .DougEdited because I can't spel Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. August 13, 200421 yr I just read this post on airliners.net forum http://www.airliners.net/discussions/aviat...ead.main/52975/> I read on the PAI forums that Microsoft are making a patch for > > > FS9. This would almost certainly mean no FS2006. The post was made > by an official FS beta tester however it was deleted shortly after > it was posted as it broke MS rules as nothing is allowed to be > > > released to the public. I really hope this patch isn't released. I > was looking forward to FS2006!But maybe it is some sort of "vapor information"?Jayjay Jean-Jacques Struyf between EBBR and EBCI
August 13, 200421 yr >But maybe it is some sort of "vapor information"?short answer: yeslong answer: absolutelyDavid
August 13, 200421 yr Yes, and don't forget, it's only very recently that Microsoft gave us all the chance, online, to register a suggestion/wishlist questionaire with themselves to assist them in their next installment of FS.A rash thing to do I feel if they have no intention of a further development of what must be one of the best selling all-time titles in PC gaming history, especially with the knowledge that for the all encompassing flight sim genre, they are pretty much the only act in town, and with a very high degree of industry respect and a vast loyal fanbase. Not to mention of course, the huge sector of third-party companies that exist purely off the back of Flight Sim; the overall backlash that would follow a dumping of Flight Sim would be phenomenal, and could be very damaging to Microsoft.
August 13, 200421 yr I wish I would have known that before we made the bet. If it's posted on the internet it must be true :-) . My first choice is a 1975 Dom Perignon. But a Louis Roederer 1996 Cristal would also do nicely.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage.
