January 17, 201313 yr I am running 6 monitors on 2 GTX690's and need to force FSX to open in windowed mode. When I hit fly it crashes. Not an issue in X-Plane because it opens in a window. What can I put in the fsx.cfg to force FSX to launch in a window? Can't find a post with a similiar issue. Any ideas would be great. Thanks, /jim
January 17, 201313 yr Hi Jim You should have this in your "[MAIN]" section: Maximized=1 Just change the 1 to a 0 (Zero) and it should run un-maximised... Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
January 17, 201313 yr Odd. I run in windowed mode all the time, and my Maximized=2 Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
January 17, 201313 yr Author That definitely launches FSX in a window. Maximized=0 open it in a small window while Maximized=2 opens it a window maximized to the monitor set as default. Unfortunately it now crashed at the end of the loading bar reaching 100% ..... At least I’m getting further.. PS. Apologies for posting this in the wrong forum ... if it can be moved that would be great
January 17, 201313 yr I never use FSX in anything other than maximised, but I just happen to know which setting it was, and figured it was either on or off, didn't know there was a "2" option :-) Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
January 17, 201313 yr Author Thanks for your help! I'm up and running ... now for some tuning. Thanks again. /jim
January 17, 201313 yr Commercial Member Sounds like a resolution setting problem. Try setting it to a lower resolution and work your way up? Dave Hodges System Specs: I9-13900KF, NVIDIA 4070TI, Quest 3, Multiple Displays, Lots of TERRIFIC friends, 3 cats, and a wonderfully stubborn wife.
