UIAUTOMATIONCORE.DLL

Featured Replies

Hi,

I want to try out the uiautomationcore.dll tweak in order to cure my system from random fsx CTD crashes.

In my fsx.exe- directory, there is a file called ui.dll. Do I need to delete/ rename it before pasting the uiautomationcore.dll in the same directory or I just leave it as it is?

Thanks,

Ulrich

All you need to do is move UIAutomationCore.dll to your FSX root folder. Other files do not need to be altered or modified. Ensure that you are using a reliable version, which can be found in Word Not Allowed's Guide.

Do not loose your time and just try Prepar3D! No crashes anymore, and people behind their product!

Hi Ulrich,

Never delete anything out of the FSX root folder unless you know what it is, like an addon... but then you would use Control Panel\Add Remove Programs then wouldn't you?

Just be very careful when interacting with the MSFS FSX root.

Thanks Owen,

Does the uiautomationcore.dll-tweak alter anything within fsx, I mean if it doesn't work I simply delete the uiautomationcore.dll file from the directory again and everything is as before?

Yes, everything will be like before if you remove if from you main FSX directory. It's part of the dotnet framework package so it won't hurt your FSX or your system when you remove it. It is mainly used to fix Menu crashes and a lot of people, like me, do not use it as they never get this menu crash.

Best regards,

Jim

Welcome to AVSIM!

Isn't the reason why P3D experiences fewer memory usage crashes because the developers pre-integrated HIGHMEMFIX=1 into the P3D configuration file (i.e., won't adding HIGHMEMFIX=1 to FSX.cfg be completely equivalent)?

Also, some popular aircraft such as those of PMDG may experience compatibility issues in P3D.
