Update for those who helped me during my Private Pilot Course difficulties

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

Don't know how many of you will remember, but I created this topic a while ago:

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/376786-suggestions-of-landing-simulation-practice-for-real-flying/

I was having issues to land the plane and consequently do my Solo flight. Well, months after that I can finally say that today I got my Private Pilot License. It wasn't easy, it spent the entire december waiting for the weather to allow me to do my 3 hour night flight time now required for the PPL, since it was crazy hot during the day, and formations of TCU and CBs during the night. Then it took me four tries to finally get to do the checkride flight, due to various reasons.

Well, I wanted to thank you all who helped me, and share my happiness with this great community! I plan on keep flying through the Commercial Pilot Course, and of course, keep flying my Flight Simulators, now that it's about to become better than ever!

Thanks guys B)

Alexis Mefano

Congratulations on obtaining your license. Combining real world flying with sim flying is a very neat combo that brings much more perspective to the sim world. I've been flying both worlds for many years now and can honestly say I love both. Just got back from some night currency this evening in the Cirrus which was loads of fun but I can't wait to fire up the Level D 767 and fly to some far away land. We pilots can be a strange bunch at times!

Thanks guys! Can't wait to start IFR Training, so that I can use my simulators more professionally than ever! Already have my addons ready =p

Very nice! Congratulations!

if the chance presents itself, do get trained on flying tailwheel. I'm not sure if you can get an endorsement for that down there, but it's a lot of fun, you learn a lot and it and doesn't require much time to get proficient.

Congratulations on your achievement. You have now become a student of flight for life. Hopefully every flight, you'll learn and progress.

Be safe and enjoy the ride.

Thank you.

Rick

I would like to learn how to fly tailwheel, but that won't happen as my flight school doesn't have any. Must be a huge challenge, specially under crosswind!

Thank you guys! Yes, I learn something new everyday, it's a great joy to be part of this "club", now I have lots of study to do so that I can soon take the Commercial Pilot Theory Exam!

Congratulations Alexis, many of us will never get the chance, it will only ever be a dream, best of luck in your flying future, and make the most of it.

I know! It almost ended as an unfulfilled dream for me. Started flying in 2007, stopped, then 2008, stopped, then finally came back in 2012.

It's great fun flying in real life, I recommend if any of you ever get some cash that you don't need to use right away, do the pilot course at your local airport, totally worth it! THen you will be able to rent the airplane and take your family and friends for some great experience!
