February 2, 201313 yr Bryan, I had to do a complete reinstall of FSX, what a bear it has been. Anyway, I've got it going now and have reinstalled the NGX with SP1c. I've installed the Voice Control version, and selected voice control in the config manager. The issue is it will not update the panel.cfg for some reason. I'm using "administrator rights", but it's still not getting updated. How should I proceed from here, please? Curt Branch
February 3, 201313 yr Author As a follow up, I did use the FS Registry Repair Tool, but unfortunately it did not help with my situation. I've used the installer now four times today, no luck at all. I'm open to other ideas. Curt Branch
February 3, 201313 yr Commercial Member Hi Curt, This is why you should never install FSX into the default "Program Files" location. Microsoft, in their efforts to protect our moms from malicious code, decided to make it difficult for outside program to write to the Program Files folder. Please do this: 1. Disable UAC. 2. Run the FS2Crew Config Manager as "admin".... right click on the FS2Crew icon and select 'run as admin'. Another problem you'll have is that if the panel.cfg file wasn't updated, then this important line was probably not added as well. Please open this file with Note Pad: Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\PMDG 737 NGX\737NGX_Options.ini and add these two lines: [sDK] EnableDataBroadcast=1 Let me know if you get the panel.cfg updated. If not, email me and I'll send you my copy. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
February 3, 201313 yr Author Bryan, I actually did install it outside of the default "program files" folder, which is what makes this so confusing. I have done today as you requested, points 1, 2 without success. I checked the 737NGX_Options.ini file, and the enabledatabroadcast line is already present. The FS2Crew2010 folder is present in the FSX folder, so I think that part is okay. Still no luck with the panel.cfg. Curt Branch

February 3, 201313 yr Author Pete, you're correct. In fact, all folders are set "read only" in my FSX folder. I believe that's normal, isn't it? Curt Branch
February 3, 201313 yr Commercial Member Mine have "read only" checked, yet I can still write to the FSX folder. Curt, email me at admin *** at**** fs2crew.com I'll help you via a remote desktop. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
February 3, 201313 yr Commercial Member We fixed this. Pretty sure the problem was he had UAC on. Everyone, please turn OFF User Account Control (UAC) before you install FS2Crew (or any other FSX addon). http://windows.micro...ntrol-on-or-off Cheers, B. Cheers, strange thought if you set folders to read only you cant edit or write anything into them, so why have read only boxes to be checked for than? February 3, 201313 yr Commercial Member We'll they're obviously not set to read only as I can write to files in that folder. Maybe the little square in the read only box means something else? Maybe it's a Win 8 bug? B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
