Funny thing...

This is a bit (or a lot) OT but since I just posted my 5000th post  I feel entitled for posting something OT for once (or twice). I was wondering if you ever experienced the same as I did last week. And quite a few times before, in all honesty...!

Did you ever use the Search option to find information about something, an addon or whatever, and you stumbled on an old post that made you go 'Who wrote this crap?' or 'Wow, didn't know that, interesting!', only to find out... you wrote it yourself...?!? This actually happened a few times since I am a member here!

It's really funny to read an old post you posted but it is even funnier when you read it not knowing you wrote it yourself! It's sometimes (very) surprising to see how you changed your views on something or to see that something you are currently interested in also interested you a few years ago but you completely forgot about it! Which is what happened last week when I was looking for information about MyTraffic X: I found some interesting questions that I also posted last week and it wasn't until sometime later that I discovered those old questions where mine... I even posted I would probably buy the addon way back then... which I obviously didn't... (I did buy it last week btw). But the funniest thing is when you read something which you don't agree with at all. That did really happen in the past but unfortunately I forgot what it was about or which topic that was... I will post it immediately the next time that happens again.

What scares me a little though is that some of those surprising posts which turn out to be my own aren't a year old yet...

Anyway, I wonder if some other er... old timers have experienced the same? ^_^

I think you should just feel happy that you are a sane human being. When you stop changing your opinions and feel too sure about your own views you become a danger to yourself and your surroundings. Very few things are written in stone. Times they are a changin'... Cheers for 5000 more!

Every day...

And, your number of posts does not excuse you for being "off topic"... :t0152:

That is a very disturbing emoticon. :O

Eek I'm not old just forgot more than I can remember! Erm... Did I mean to say that?

Well done for the 5000 and here's to the next :)

The only thing I can say with certainty is that opinions can change as you become more mature and educated and when you have an opinion early on which stays the same it's frightening how much you knew that at the time you didn't know you did!!! :)

Actually, many times I've used the Search feature to recover some detailed information that I I wrote several years ago...

...but for some reason can't remember now that I need it...

P.S., it may just be a symptom of my advancing age...
