February 8, 201313 yr Finally getting to Tutorial #2 --LOWI. Attempting to set FMC EHAM DEP/ARR page. Only Rwy 18 appears vs 24 I know my Airac is newer than the Tutorial. Any suggestions?? FMC will not accept a correction for the Rwy. I haven't done any corrections to airac ( not sure how to anyway). Thanks ahead. George KPHX George Haarmann KPHX Drum & Bugle Corps Fan
February 8, 201313 yr Only RW18 appears for the whole airport? Or you have selected SID before selecting runway on DEP/APP page? In this case FMC will filter runways to where this SID is available. Rostyslav S Wanna fly 737NGX with turbulence?
February 8, 201313 yr At the risk of coming across as being overly pedantic, I should add that EHAM doesn't have a runway 18. It does have a set of parallel runways, 18L, 18C, and 18R, of which only 18L and 18C are available for departures. Are you sure you've entered the right origin airport ICAO code on the RTE page? If so, then the most probable cause is indeed selecting the SID before the runway, as stated above. The correct way of doing it is selecting departure runway first, and then the desired SID (only the ones pertaining to the runway you've just selected will be listed).
February 8, 201313 yr Author I AM ACTUALLY following page by page, line by line the strps by step procedure shown in the Tutorial on pg 27. The screen shot and text state Rwy 24. Using My latest airac only rwy 18 shows up. Using "their" Rwy 24 the route pages domt match. I wonder is I should make a ticket to support for this one?? Any thoughts??? Thanks George KPHX rsvit,,LeK767 Not sure what has just happened but RESELECTING DEP/ARR for EHAM new runways have aqppeared. Hopefully All is weel now. February 8, 201313 yr In case the problem persists or reoccurs: it would be helpful for you to post screenshots of the FMC's IDENT page, as well as the various route entry and departure selection pages. By posting a visual journal of your actions leading up to the problem you're encountering, people will be better able to figure out what's causing the issue and help you work towards a solution. Also, please mention who your AIRAC vendor is (Navigraph, Aerosoft, ...) and which AIRAC cycle you're using (although that should be listed on the IDENT page , of course). Cheers.

Agree with Petja, if you supply a screen shot of the FMC pages, may help. I just programmed the FMC as per Tutorial No 2 and had no issues, all runways were there for selection. As an experiment, I even applied the runway early in the process to see if this would isolate the runway choice, but again, the FMC came through and supplied all runways, only this time with a <sel> to advise you you have selected this runway. February 8, 201313 yr Author Guys, I would LOVE to send a screen shot but I never have done this before. So far I saved the shot into a Excel file but dont know what to do from there. I have right clicked on the file for " send to" but the selections confuse me. . Not sure if this is the correct place to ask for help. But.... February 8, 201313 yr Commercial Member I would LOVE to send a screen shot but I never have done this before. Luckily, Microsoft actually included a useful feature for FSX. When you're flying and need to take a screenshot, simply press the V key and it'll drop a bitmap (BMP) into your My Pictures folder (in a sub-folder referencing FS in some way - I forget the exact name they use). No more having to hit PrtScr, open paint, paste and save. Once you have the screenshot, you can upload it to a site like Flickr or Picasa, or just attach it to your post (as long as the file size is small enough - the attach screen will let you know the limits). As far as the issue goes, it seems like the AIRAC didn't install correctly, or the departure procedure (DP) has changed available runways. Try selecting the runway first, and it should filter the departures down as appropriate. Since the EU normally lists the DPs by the end FIX (e.g.: REDFA3B would drop off at REDFA...or whatever the fix is...I haven't flown in the EU in quite some time). The different numbers and letters at the end are sequence numbers and configuration letters. The sequence tracks changes to the procedure, and the configuration letter shows that it is set for a different runway or track. I'm guessing the tutorial is referencing a procedure that has been changed since its writing, and that the 18 simply refers to the collection of runways, as the procedure may be the exact same for L, C and R. I could be wrong, however, as I'm no EU specialist, and I haven't flown over there in a while. Kyle Rodgers
February 9, 201313 yr If running Windows 7, "SnippingTool.exe" is available. You can make rectangular snips, window snips, full screen, and even free form snips. Richard Wolff
February 9, 201313 yr Author Scandinavian13, Thank for all the info. The RWY issue has been resoved but.... I WOULD like to be able to a attatch a screen shot to help with my situations like others do. I DID take your advice and placed a screen shot into My Pictures folder. but..( again) now I'm stuck again. You said "just attatch to post". Pardon mt lack of PC knowledge but HOW do you do that. I need step by step if you have the time. I have looked ar other programs like some have suggested but thay are so vast and filled with other procedures that just confuse me. Thanks ever so much for what you can do. George Haarmann KPHX Drum & Bugle Corps Fan

February 10, 201313 yr Author Thanks Geoff, I'll look into it. I wish there was more step-by-step directions for those of us that aren't that computer wise. Maybe I should take a course or something. LOL George Haarmann KPHX Drum & Bugle Corps Fan
