Apple //e Enhanced

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about bidding on this one:

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=561390705

It is now up to $705 when I posted this and I bet it sells for over $2000 dollars. Who would have thought a 25 year old Computer would be worth so much.

I used to have one but it has been lost in a house fire about 15 years ago.

Just been watching Pawn Stars, and it's always the stuff you'd never thought would be worth something that makes people a fortune. Wish I hadn't crushed my Apple II...

My first computer was and Apple II GS. I used to play Need for Speed and flight simulator all the time. Every once in a while I would use it to make a nice essay for school

Some classic Macintosh games were very fun: a classic version of Missile Strike, a game involving leprechauns, Lode Runner, and my favorite—Spectre!

The Apple //e I had was older then the one in that ad as it was one of the early models. We also got an Apple //c to replace it that my brother now has. I still have the box for Sublogic Flight Simulator 2 for it. The manuals on that one are still good to learn flight basics and navigation, etc.

That one you could navigate VOR from Meigs Field in Chicago down to Willard Airport and do a touch and go at Kankakee Airport. It is amazing to do the same flight today to see how far this crazy franchise has evolved.

I remember those flights! I also remember using the printed manual, yes, printed manual!, to do a little tutorial they had about VOR navigation. Basically, it had you take off, fly a heading and once intercepting the radial, fly that radial outbound and if you had activated your smoke trail before takeoff, you would then go to top view and see your track. I was AMAZED as to how I was able to mimic the track that was illustrated on the manual. Damn, those were the days!
