February 12, 201313 yr Tried loading up AS2012 w the latest beta SP and it's stuck on "downloading global weather data from primary server" Anyone else?
February 12, 201313 yr They have had routing problems during the last month but I did not notice any hickups lately. Try restarting AS.
February 16, 201313 yr Well tonight I am flying and all of a sudden my sim drops out to the desktop. I look at the AS 2012 status and "FSX connection not established!". This happens once or twice every flight. I am assuming this is related to HIFI servers. I cannot think of any other reason I would have this problem as my FSX is operating perfect otherwise. Is anyone else having this issue?
February 16, 201313 yr Your problem has me wondering if this is why FSX did a CDT twice on me this week while using AS2012. I don't get CDT 's normally anymore unless I screw up a scenery layering or similar. Does anyone know - can an AS2012 weather link break cause FSX to crash? Ron W
February 16, 201313 yr Never had a CTD but losing the connection to the wx servers did drop my sim into the task bar. I was able to re-establish the wx connection and continue on to my usual somewhat bumpy landing. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
February 16, 201313 yr Hi chaps, I had severe preasure changes, temp increases at FL and A/T disconnects when AS had problems with connection, no CTD though, perhaps because I run AS networked from my laptop. I closed and restarted AS and all was good. Regards, Morten Steen
February 16, 201313 yr I have never experienced AS2012 crashing FSX nor ASE for that matter. Server downloads have been very stable since the 4783 build. AS2012 becoming disconnected from FSX, a possible simconnect failure? If this is recurring raise a support ticket with the necessary log files at ActiveSky Support
February 16, 201313 yr Im guessing now that the CTD had nothing to do with AS. Since Ive never had it minimize to the taskbar, I'm also guessing my AS was never the problem in the first place :-D Ron W
February 16, 201313 yr I figured out the problem on my setup. I needed to open port 500 on my router. This solves the issue for me. It would appear that this is a simconnect issue. Perhaps I should mention that I have AS 2012 on another computer. The issue, for me, is AS related but the problem is because I missed opening the port on my router. Thus AS works perfectly with FSX as long as the simconnect setup is correct which includes the port on the router.
February 17, 201313 yr I don't want to mislead anyone about this problem I was having so I will set the record straight. I did need to do all the things I listed above, but further tests I still had the problem. What I discovered was I had a Citrix receiver running in the background. I disabled it and did further testing. The problem is completely gone. The reason I thought it was Simconnect was because I moved AS 2012 from my FSX computer to a laptop and the problem became evident because at about the same time I loaded a VPN that runs from Citrix to my main computer. My mistake. This was not anything related to AS 2012, it runs perfect with FSX and the weather depiction I am getting is outstanding.
