Ken I'm very keen to try your FSAutoStart but I have FS2002 running in Windows 2000 Pro. Would it be safe to use it?Regards

Ken,I have been running version 1.5 for some time. I just installed the new version 1.8. However when I go to the start function, the window dialog comes up for a brief second, then nothing. I have installed with defaults, so I am not sure what is going wrong. Do you have any ideas?ThanksBob

Ken,Thanks for your help in providing your listing of personal settings. It worked for me like a champ :0)With two teenagers using the same computer, your program is a lifesaver in allowing my computer to ungunk itself with all the installed junk they have put on it. In fact it worked so well, I took the plunge and purchased Activesky 2004 to make use of all those freed up frames :0)Fly safeDave G

Yes.

The new version is 1.1 (build 9).Anyway, as far as your problem goes, it sounds like the control program may not be able to read the ini file for some reason.Did you uninstall 1.5 first?

I just installed FSAutostart last week. Haven't had any problems. Seems to help considerably in the ram area. Quick question? Do I need to rerun this program every morning after I start up my machine or does it automatically go when I start FSim?

Hi. You don't need to run it when you start the machine. Only when you want to launch Flight Sim (or whatever program/game you want).

Hi Ken,Thanks a million for this clever utility... I use it exclusively now every time I fly and love how it frees resources and then restores them when the flight is complete. Very ingenious! It is resourceful folks like you that keep this hobby interesting! One small request... is it possible to modify the app so that a user can select a particular profile as default rather than having to select a specific one each time? I have 4 profiles for different applications but by far the one for FS2k4/As2004.5 gets the most use. If I could select that profile and make it the default then I save a mouse click every time I intend to go fly. Just a suggestion. I'll use this tool anyway if you can't add the capability. Thanks for listening!DougDell 8250 (3.06GHz/533FSB)1GB Rambus RAM120GB (C: ) & 160GB ATA (D: )ATI Radeon 9700 Pro (Catalyst 4.9b)Audigy 2 Sound (latest drivers)MS Force Feedback 2WindowsXP Pro (SP2)DirectX 9.0c

Interesting request...I'll add to my list. Thanks! Also, if you create a shortcut for your profile, then you can save even more mouse clicks! Just put the shortcut on your desktop, then you can start your game via FSAutoStart by opening the shortcut!

I've just tried out the program, and it works great! A small question: in services, when the program is shutting things down, it displays an error message for a service called SymProxySvc, which apparently is a dependant of NISUM, saying this cannnot be terminated. However, neither of these services appear in the list - any idea what they are, and how they became selected? Many thanks,Mike F.

Hi,I'll take a look...there are some services which do not allow themselves to be stopped (event log is one.)Regards,

Ken,Did what you suggested and did an un-install to all my FSAutoStart programs. Then installed the new Version 1.1, and again the control program just clicked on and then disappeared. Do you have any idea why v1.5 runs so well and all the new ones just won't start. What seeting should I change?Bob

Are you starting the profile using a shortcut?

I start FS AS from a shortcut. Bob

Right click on the shortcut and go to properties. Then look at the file path. Does it look correct? My guess is the file path was/is pointing to an older version that is no longer there.Either adjust the file path, or delete the shortcut and re-create it.
