AOTD for 2/28/13 - Iditarod 11 - Ophir

Featured Replies

Today we continue on down the Iditarod trail to the abandoned town of Ophir. This marks where the trail splits into the N & S routes.

Enjoy.

Thank you.

Allright got me another one for Iditarod in the books. I am getting into these aerocache things!

Of course just hand to land on that strip after grabbing it!

This was a easy one. Next is IDITAROD that most of us already have since it was done out of sequence already. Should be interesting.

Well, I got 2 for the price of one. For some reason, there are now some permanent Aerocache, that I had already done, but that are unchecked.

So, I started the flight at Takotna and bing! I immediately got that one. For the second time. Then, I flew to Yankee Creek for a touch-and-go and unfortunately I had chosen the Stearman for this flight:

Well, guess what? It doesn't do short field landings quite like the Cub. Or maybe I need to get the brakes fixed. So, I crashed into the trees at the end of the runway.

No problem, continued on to Ophir and got my second Aerocache of the day.

So, the way I see it, there are now about a half dozen Aerocache in the permanent list left for me to do. Good! B)

Best regards.
