March 2, 201313 yr Author Hi All: Making some progress! Thanks to Mike_57 for the link to an easy to understand tutorial on how to set up and use FSUIPC. As many of you suggested, I disabled FSX Controls and that was key to my partial progress. I have now been able to map my Gulfstream V throttles and make them operate independently of one another. However, when sending the Axis Assignments to Joystick Calibration to map the Reverser, the settings get change that control throttle lever movement and I can't get the Reverser to function. I find that after sending the assignments to Joystick Cab, that the figures for throttle percent are getting changed. I don't know why. Also, can someone tell me if all the mapping data is completely stored in the FSUIPC cfg file or is part of it stored in the FSUIPC dll file or somewhere else? I keep a back up of all my FSX major files and when trying to restore a previous FSUIPC cfg file, data that I have changed (and backed up) doesn't show up when pasted back into the FSUIPC folder. This requires me to start over with the process again and is very labor intensive, not to mention a PITA. So my task at hand is now getting the Reversers to function in FSUIPC. Thanks all. Best regards, Chris
March 3, 201313 yr The way I got my reversers to work is to treat the bottom detent on the throttle lever as a button assignment in FSUIPC, under the "button & switches" tab. I assigned it as the F2 key (check the "select for key press" box, click on "set", then hit F2). I also check the "repeat while held" checkbox. I did it for both engines. Good luck. --Don Don Polidori
March 3, 201313 yr Something that has helped me also with FSUIPC, is to use the "Profile" feature. Simply set up the aircraft with the profile box checked, then any similar aircraft, you can select "Profile", then "Profile Based On" and select a aircraft to base your new profile on. It makes it so you don't have to start from scratch every time you set up an aircraft. Robert Yunque
March 3, 201313 yr Same here, I started making a good working profile for NGX, then tweaked it to suit the MD-11 and now recently took the same and made a profile for the J41. Usually a little work with the throttles/levers but axis and buttons are golden.
