March 2, 201313 yr Hello all, does the following ever happen to you and, if so, is this avoidable? While flying to and from any two airports, any aircraft, whether Prepar3D (which I am now completely sold on, btw) or FSX, on full autopilot and at cruise altitude, the aircraft will shift heading and the speed will spike momentarily to overspeed - all in a couple of seconds. Is this supposed to simulate turbulence or what? Can I control this annoyance as it has drastic effects on statistical flight evaluation software etc. Suggestions or comments anyone? Thanks in advance. Mario Di Lauro
March 2, 201313 yr Commercial Member I think those are caused by sudden changes in wind, registered version of FSUIPC could help as it allows you to limit wind changes.
March 2, 201313 yr FSUIPC paid version is one thing that will fix that. One other possiblity is using FSrealWX, it also has wind adjustments. I use both so I dont know which works better. Jay
March 2, 201313 yr FSUIPC paid version is one thing that will fix that. Really? What's the trick? I have had the paid version, have checked the various boxes that appear to address the issue, yet it remains. Tell me if you will how you have both FSX's weather controls setup as well as FSUIPC's as I am apparently missing something. Thanks in advance! March 3, 201313 yr This is an old problem in FSX (or maybe a previous version): sometimes when you change areas, the altitudes do not match with the result that you have observed. Henri Henri Arsenault
March 3, 201313 yr This used to happen to me, drove me nuts when the plane was whipped around like that, sometimes it would yaw to 30 degrees or so. On Winds tab of FSUIPC I have "Wind Smoothing" smooth wind changes limited to 2 knots or degrees per second. Works like a champ. BTW I use ASE over the LAN from a laptop for my weather.
