ground crew gpu request

Featured Replies

Hi Bryan, just a small question . Will it possible when you set in fs2crew panel to have ground power to have some kind of voice request from FO to ground crew before he switch to ground power on the overhead panel. Every time I watch youtube from real cockpit it is always interesting listening all this request over radio to ground crew . Thanks Petr

Hi , I know what you saying is right is the best enhancement for ngx one can buy no doubt about that . The dialog I was looking for is that before FO swich to GPu to power aircraft there is no dialog between ground that gpu is available . I know you can see it on overhead panel , but would be nice if there is some request on background to here between FO and ground crew . Cheers Petr

I think that Petr means that after the FO (or the captain) chose ground connections/external power in the fmc, we have a dialog like :

- ground to cockpit

- go ahead

- the GPU is connected now

- thanks

And the FO put ground power to ON on the overhead panel

Yeah exactly , thanks I know my broken English . Cheers Petr

Hi Petr

I was lucky enough to be both ground crew and flight crew in the real world, and in my experience this was not normally necessary, that's what the light is for. Normally the flight crew would request ground power and then just wait for the light to come on, check volts and frequency then select ground power. During a short turnaround, the ground engineer is normally far to busy to stay on the headset.

Thanks for the info Glen.

In this case, the dialog could be :

- (before connecting the GPU via the FMC, the FO could say) Cockpit to ground

- Go ahead

- Please connect GPU

- OK

Then the simulated FO goes to the FMC and connect the GPU himself. And so on for the procedure.

I know that I can speak the phrase "connect the GPU" myself before "RUN PF", but if I choose EXT/AC in FS2Crew config, then RUN PF, if not done yet, the FO automatically connects the GPU via the FMC.

This is indeed very much correct in our everyday procedures, everyone is far too busy ;) Just shut engine 2 down approaching the stand, they plug it in, check the volts, stick it on and get ready for the next sector almost immediately...
