NGX The Future!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just wondering if we will see the EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) on the NGX after the PMDG 777.

Has PMDG mentioned or said anything else they would like to add/do to the NGX?

Also would you like anything added to the NGX? (Im sure everyone here will agree its brilliant already)

Thanks

Greg Marshall

Are there many airlines using the EFB on the real NGX just now?

An EFB, yes.  An integrated EFB?  Not to my knowledge.

UAL and AAL both issue iPads to pilots as EFBs.

Hi Kyle,

Yes I was thinking about it being integrated, is there space available in the cockpit of the NGX for this?

Sitting with my tablet on my knee is pretty normal then! Haha

Looks like there's an option out there:

(there are a couple others, as well)

As to who uses it, I can't say for sure.

yep, we are talking NGX though.

As for it coming to the NGX - yes, once it is in the 777, it should come to the NGX as well. Modularity was one of the stated design criteria. i.e. any change implemented for NGX, 777 or 747v2 should be easily portable to other ones.

For example, RTA is developed for the 777, it is said to come to the NGX shortly after 777 release.
