I ask PMDG very nicely (not a Release date request)

I think Olli was being, er, facetious Ryan. He is referring to the promises offered by a certain developers 'Extended' product that has not lived up to its promises in regards to system fidelity - something we never have to worry about with PMDG products :)

Thanks. Facetious - yes, at least I was trying to be.

Actually I'm fine with the extended Airbus development (right, this doesn't belong to this thread) - except for Aerosoft advertising it as if its development was completed already.

On the AXE forum, a number of people use Boeing terms (see how PMDG has been influencing the whole flightsim community?!?), so I thought it could be just another awkward attempt for me to use "sidestick terms" on this occasion here.

Right now I'm wondering whether I should apologize to you, Ryan, for not making clear enough my facetious attempt - or whether you should thank me for giving you the opportunity to advertise on that high-fidelity-modelled-in-depth-hybrid-VNAV-PTH feature.

I'll leave that question unanswered and I'd rather like to thank you, Ryan, for bothering even with our nitpicking in such a continuously professional way.

No need to apologize for using sophisticated terminology, I still use the term ECAM, FCU, and MCDU when it comes to the 737 lol

I too own the bus you are talking about and while they advertised it as a mid range product (above minimal systems but not fully modeled) I agree that its very rushed and beta has been barely concluded or even started. Makes me appreciate PMDG's thoroughness even more when it comes to testing and verification, and the other company has tried to appease the "GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE NOW!" crowd and now we all see how that pans out if the product is nowhere near ready.

Thanks for your reassurance.

"Sophisticated"? I'd say the Airbus terminology is different from Boeing but neither one is (more) sophisticated.

I'd like to propose we all enjoy our different planes, system designs, terminologies and whatever.

The true value of a Boeing aircraft will be clearly perceptible only after your Airbus switched from flight laws to ground laws at the most inappropriate moment imaginable ...   ;-))

It was meant to be a joke.

And there are times where Airbus laws probably would've saved a Boeing plane as well :)

Good one!

So what do you think?

- We put all the above-average pilots on a Boeing flightdeck.

- And the mediocre ones on an Airbus flightdeck to have the systems iron out the pilots's mistakes.

(Just joking myself!!!)

So which flightdeck do we assign to RSR?!?   (I'm STILL joking, for heaven's sake!!!)

Well we all know that Airbus pilots can be good glider pilots if they lose their engines (Air Transat 236 and US Air 1549)  :P

I'm sure a number of people are glad, that "Sully" and his crew were actually capable of doeing what they did to prevent a disaster.

Boeing pilots sometimes have been glider pilots, too: the famous "B767 glider" ...

(Marius, you still need your thread, here?!?)

Thanks Oliver for keeping it going, i am lurking here in the woodwork waiting patiently for the PMDG 777 to be released, even my wife is irritated with me, because thats mainly what i talk about at night when we sit around the diningroom table, and she asked me how my day has been, and i say "ok, PMDG has still not released the 777" and then i get that look, even my kids are thinking "his lost it".

Worse than flu i tell you!

My head is sore, my body aches, i am running a fever....................................and its all because of this wait, but hey i am using this time to familiarize myself more with the inner workings of the 777, i have watched nearly all of the 777 Just Plane movies, i am now fluent in French, Spanish, Canadian(that like english isnt it lol), Mandarin and a little German!

I have even applied to a new Virtual Airline (which shall not be named but to get in is like winning the Oscar for best actor), but i need to put in some heavy hours to get to the level to fly the 777, which is good as it gives me some left seat time of the PMDG 737NGX which i also enjoy, but it was gathering some dust as i was flying the PMDG 747-400X nearly every weekend, jip its still a miracle that i am married to a loving and understanding and supportive wife, not many like that around i tell you.

I know somewhere on here, some thread was talking about where i will base my 777, well i will first build most of my hours for the new VA flyying around South Africa and then up north flying from Gatwick and Heathrow now thats all on the 737, and then the 777 flying from Heathrow, I love the UK and Europe, been lucky enough to have visited over the past few years, I love Germany, but the wife loves France especially Paris, was thinking maybe next year sometime wanna go back to France and do a tour of the Southern parts.

Ok Ok i have to stop day dreaming and get back to the real life and work right now!!
