March 18, 201313 yr Hi there Guys, Must say i dont post much, as i believe dont say anything if you cant back it up! I ask PMDG very nicely that please do not release the T7 in any guise if its not absolutely ready, jip i bought the oppositions (and no im not hammering them, done enough of that on their site)T7, and have been very dissapointed with their product, especially when it comes to systems. The frustration is endless, and being treated as mushrooms (fed cr@p and kept in the dark) has not helped them much either. I am waiting in total anticipation and i will be one of the first to swipe the credit card to get myself a copy. Good luck to you all, and thank you! Marius Scheepers Marius Scheepers Wannabe Pilot

Marius Scheepers Hi Marius, good to "see" you again with another one of your polite and balanced posts ... (I mean it!) It's become common practice all around to release "incomplete" planes and to justify this by "user requests/user demand". Advertising on these not-completed products very often is misleading as the advertisings suggest those planes are finished anyway. I'd been a "follower" or even a"late follower" for a long time, so I hadn't had to bother much: When I'd bought an aircraft, I'd gotten a CD-/DVD-version with a SP available for immediate download. That's changed just recently for me as I turned towards the "early" side and I've been disappointed like you, with the "other 777 developer" being on top of my "blacklist". The bad news is: You won't make a change here in this forum either, I'm afraid. As we haven't been able to make a change concerning other developers either. The good news is: PMDG hasn't disappointed yet (not me anyway!) - neither in terms of "completeness" and quality nor in terms of fair and correct advertising. Just give them a chance - they'll do it "the PMDG way" anyway ... What happened to AVSIM
March 18, 201313 yr Author Hi Ryan et al. Thank you very much for the reply, i have been a huge fan of your 737NGX and 747-400X and not expecting anything less from your 777 product! Good luck once again for this project, and we are awaiting your announcement with abated breath. thanks Marius Marius Scheepers Wannabe Pilot

Ta...Ryan, does the initial release include - fully working managed vertical modes? - complete panel state saving including the state of the FCU? Please be advised - - that the Init B page has to be saved, too, as it can't be accessed anymore after reloading when engines are already running.) (I guess I better run now ...) What happened to AVSIM

March 18, 201313 yr No plane or product will be 100%... if its going to be 100% there should be no product patches with bug fixes or more features added. I bet it will be more like 98%, 100% is not possible if you're going to be technical. Someone out there will be having issues. =) Kacper Nowotynski
March 18, 201313 yr Even if there were to be issues, I'm positive PMDG would be quick to get a handle on it and release an update. I have no issues with paying more $$ for their products because of the quality and realism involved. Always have been a quality over quantity guy. You're right Luke in your above statement. Chris Sunseri
March 18, 201313 yr I completely agree with you. Just saying no software can be 100% =) Kacper Nowotynski
March 18, 201313 yr To add something less absurd than I did before: 1) One is about (so called) issues, which no developer can avoid: user not installing as admin, some AV software or firewall interfering, some combination of OS, addons and configurations/settings not working perfectly together (includes something trivial as double assignments of hotkeys, for example, blocking some function on your brand new airplane). These things are bound to happen. 2) The other one is about: What do customers REALLY want? No one wants to pay the full price for a product just halfway completed, but what about a product 99% finished? If I'm the one not interested in the missing 1%, I don't understand why the product hasn't been released yet. If that feature I fancy so much is the only one missing from initial release, I feel deceived even though the other 99% work like a charme. Purely theoretical thinking, as these Pretty Models, Damn Good ones they'll be, won't be released your way or mine, but "the PMDG way". What happened to AVSIM
March 18, 201313 yr 2) The other one is about: What do customers REALLY want? No one wants to pay the full price for a product just halfway completed, but what about a product 99% finished? If that feature I fancy so much is the only one missing from initial release, I feel deceived even though the other 99% work like a charme. Not intending to be insulting, but this is really very ridiculous. Most people who purchased the other 777, did for a very cut rate price because it was very clearly stated by the developer that the simulation was not a finished product. If I didn't get it for a cut-rate price, I would not have purchased it at all. The practice of releasing a "public beta" has been common for the last few releases by this other developer, but no one is forced to buy it (to my knowledge), and it is always clearly stated what you are getting, so everyone who buys it, does it with their eyes WIDE open so there is no regrets. That said, everyone knows that PMDG does not release unfinished simulations. They hold themselves to a higher Power, or..er Standard. I bought the other product, so I would have a 777 to use in FSX until PMDG releases theirs. That is exactly what I have. It is flyable, I can fly it and it works (somewhat) ok. About what I expect. I am not disappointed, but if it had the name "PMDG" stamped on it, I would be VERY disappointed. Eventually all of the bugs will be worked out of the other 777 and it will be near perfect to what it was intended to be (good, but not PMDG). Only thing is, by that time, we will be flying PMDG's T7 and probably not looking back, except to the NGX. Robert Yunque
March 18, 201313 yr Robert, I wasn't referring to the other T7 developer (not THIS time, anyway), simply looking at a dilemma in general: If you release a tad "too late", there will be customers asking "Why does it take so long?" If you release a tad earlier, there will be customers asking "Why isn't this included yet?" For my views on what the other developer stated clearly or has been stating not quite as clearly since, you might, if you want to, refer to my topics and posts in other forums on AVSIM. And, of course, I agree to that "probably not looking back". What happened to AVSIM
