  1. Well my wife was informed that i would be making this purchase as soon as it is released, I will wager a guess we would probably look at the same price as the 777, because even with 4 engines the thrust produced is very similar to the trust produced by those monstrosities on each wing pylon of the 777!!!! Kyle et al. Just some humor on a monday!
  2. What else could anyone have expected from PMDG, they always go the extra mile!, and in this case mile and a half!
  3. Just a few bob from me, in your CDU/FMC there is an option either under PMDG or Settings, where you have to enter your activation key, maybe you missed that step, i know i have in the past!
  4. I think the 747 is still a few months away, so my bet is on your UGCX to come out first but then again, its like gambling against the house, and we all know the house always win!
  5. Thanks Robert! Im still solidly an FSX (Boxed) Pilot, and during the last few years bought add-on's to increase the life span and shortcomings of FSX, i think i am now in a happy place, im not going to upgrade to Win10, Win 7 is excellent and running my 777 and 737 with these systems have created this "happy place" feeling. I love my 777, and 737, before the release of the 777, my long range aircraft of choice was the 747, my VA still has many in operation, so cant wait to get my hands on the new version, i am sure that i will have a huge learning curve again, as was evident with the 777. I dont want to start a this developer product is better than that one or vice versa, i believe its up the individual, some loves the eye candy others again wants the systems, i think this is where PMDG is better than most other developers as they cater for both. When i fly i am mainly on the flightdeck, and not too worried about if the repaint is exactly as per the real world, but the systems and flow is important to me. I am happy that we have to wait, because at the end of the day you are getting an aircraft that is spot on, and it gives one when you sit down in the left hand seat that feeling knowing that so many hours have gone into this product and that RW pilots, engineers, maintenance people have used this product and according to them everything works as it should! Good luck for the next stage of this development! Kind regards Marius Scheepers Captain British Airways Virtual
  6. Mike, I just want to say thank you very much for the awesome flow it has helped me, and im not one who likes to follow pieces of paper!!!!! Bryan awesome program cant wait for v1.1, and the stock standard question, when do you think it will be released!!!???? Someone had to ask!
  7. Well i am an Afrikaans (South African) speaker and i have an Cape Town accent, as well as my wife and 15mths old twins look funny at me sitting there doing the tutorial, over....and....over.
  8. Hi Rob, Please remember to sign all your posts with your name, the moderators are quite strict and might just remove your post. Coming to the Saitek panel and your question, I use SPAD free download from here http://fstools.weebly.com/ ,then there is also LINDA but im not so clued up on that. But give SPAD a try i also thought i wasted moolah when i couldnt get it to work untill someone also pointed me in that direction. Hope you come right!!
  9. As Pankaj said the default ones, some of the buttons doesnt work, but that is not the important ones for me, the ones that do work is the Radio Panel, Flaps, Gear, Trim etc. Must say cant wait for FS2Crew as i will most certainly be one of the first to purchase it.
  10. I have the OpenCockpits MCP v2, i know OC have the 777 script somewhere, i opted for the easy way and purchased the installer (much easier option) and the 2 scripts for the 737NGX and 777X from the site. Installed it all last weekend and tested it, seems to work like a charm!! Will do some more testing this weekend, but im totally stoked about it!
  11. Hi There Are u using SPAD, if not download it its free, mine works 100% with the PMDG777,here is the link: http://fstools.weebly.com/ Cheers Marius
  12. thanks will give it a try!!!
  13. Good day fellow 737 Pilots, I have a HUGE problem, i bought online a Opencockpits MCP to use with my PMDG 737NGX. Now i have tried almost everything, let me just say it out first I am not at all a computer fundi, very far from it im actually useless, if it cant self install, then yeah i have a problem. Is there anyone here that has this MCP, and can give it to me in a "Dummies Guide to Installing the OpenCockpits MCP for the PMDG 737NGX", pretty please!!! I really want to use it, the previous owner used it with IFLY 737 and he was chuffed, so happy for him, but i prefer the PMDG version. Thanks!!!!!!!
  14. Thanks to the good samaritan that contacted me via PM you know who you are. You are a gentleman and a scholar!
  15. Good day all, I have been searching all sorts of websites and maybe its just me but i cant find anywhere the dimensions of the throttle levers, pitch & trim Speedbrake and Flaps lever, not the whole qaudrant just the actual dimensions of the parts sticking out the qaudrant, i hope im not confusing someone here now. I know there are people in the UK, USA etc that make these slip on's for the saitek throttle qaundrants, but im in South Africa and here its pretty expensive to import these items, so i would like to make my own, and because this is the PMDG B777 forum and i know here are some RW B777 jocks hanging around maybe they would be able to assist with dimensions even rudementry would help. Thanks all!!!
  16. Thanks Guys  just thought im the only one without the latest update! Luckilly im patient B)
  17. Sorry all, I have been slightly out of the loop these last few days i can see Robert mentioned last week friday or something like that but cant see any further menttioning of the SP1b, did I miss it? Thanks!
  18. OK, i will be the one that say it, its not a game!! I think if you fly the default flights in FSX, without worrying about settings i.e. fmc etc etc, then yeah maybe its a game, but when you start flying seriously true to real aircraft as PMDG and some other have made, then it becomes a whole new ball game, thats just my view point, please dont take me out for it!! But i do agree with you on one thing, Thanks PMDG for giving us the unforgiving, wanting more, complaining and whining flight simmers an awesome product!! <_< At my VA, im only a Senior First Officer, so only allowed the 737,757,767,A319,A320 and A321, my favourite is the 737NGX, cant wait to become a Captain so that i can move onto the 777. But i am already "familiarizing " myself with the 777
  19. +1 that would be awesome!!
  20. Thanks Adrian, Very comprehensive response i will most definetely try what you have proposed, my thought was not that it would make FSX better or whatever but it might help by reducing small issues i.e. stuttering etc s it doest need to read/write at a much slower speed than the HDD. Cheerio Marius
  21. Good day Captains! (or am i actually allowed to say that, due to Robert using that sentence) In any case let me continue, my PC setup isnt too bad i could run the PMDG 777 jip had some VAS issues, but the last few flights (crossed fingers) i havent experienced it again. Now my FSX and all related products ORBX, AS Next, Avliasoft, ORBX was running on a seperate drive which was a normal 1TB HDD. I got myself a large SSD and all my FSX goodies would fit on there with some spare capacity, now here is the question: 1. Do i just Copy my entire D:/ HDD drive to my new E:/ SSD? 2. Will all the programs that have now moved to the E: Drive work without making changes? 3. I must still use FS Registry fix, will this fix all the links 4. Will my PMDG 777 run better on the SSD than the HDD?? Ok i think thats enough for now as i get answers more questions would probably follow. Thanks all!!
  22. Its because it was probably a cropped screen shot, we all know PMDG wont release something like that, also take into consideration that the frames you see in that screenshot is it is on that screen
  23. I agree 77west, it just makes me sick that people complain the whole time saying its unflyable, you want something unflyable that was the CS777, which seriously lacked on everything except eye candy. When looking at the recent (or not so recent) CTP Westbound, the majority of aircraft was the 777, and i think by far the majority was the PMDG 777. Yes the latest SP would fix small things like cold and dark start, if you really wanted it, you could have made your own scenario and save panel state, the FBW isnt a show stopper at all, jip it might be alot better with the latest version, but for a developer just to give out hotfixes the whole time sometimes are not the best option as one fix might break another! So we waited 8 months, so what! the 737NGX has been in the market now for a few years and is flown daily by thousands of people but even it has some small issues, enough to have some sim pilots to put it in the hanger to gather dust, nope not at all! Lets be positive about these changes, i am personally looking forward to it especially the weather radar!
  24. MMMMMMMMMM I am most defintely not going to get involved in a war of words that being keyboard or cellphone, as i am not going to entertain a troll any further! Have a lovely day! Marius Scheepers
  25. So Marno, Tell me, could you not fly the B777 due to the few issues that was mentioned?, and i think responding to people in the fashion you are doing at present isnt going to make anyone do anything faster. All of us live in the real world, but your response to this update borders on being childish or showing some sense of immaturity. Marius Scheepers Johannesburg South Africa
