I just bought this program, and i'm a little disappointed. I fly the Quality Wings BAE 140. I start out at default KEYW and get 19-20 fps...now granted i by no means have a super pc...middle of the road. When I start MCE using FSX at KEYW it brings my pc to its knees....2-3 fps...unusable...Does this sound right? Am i doing or not doing something wrong?

Really? I get no frame drop at all, it runs outside of FSX, so it does not consume any resources.<br /><br />Have you got an anti virus program actively scanning? You could have something checking the MCE exe in real time and bringing your system to its knees? It sounds strange.

I do have a anti virus running, i'll check that. Like i said in earlier post, never could get the demo to run more than one time, so I said what the heck...I'll buy it. Funny thing is i still have a problem running the wizard. On the second page of the wizard set up, it will ask about input/output devices.in the window it shows my output speakers as my 5.1 sound card and my input as my usb headset. If I try to change the output speakers to my usb headset, the wizard shuts down. If i leave it to the default 5.1 the wizard continues. But even then i have problems with tuning the mic. Seems to skip around the differnt pages..it goes from page 5 to page 7 then to page 6 then to page 8,9 and finish. I'll mess with it some more, but damn $65 and i can't get it to work.

Write a description of the case to MCE support team. They will try to help You pretty soon, usually with far success.

MCE is a great tool, You will be glad You spend the dollar after sorting initial things out.

I have never seen such a dramatic FPS drop with MCE, even with MCE's 'CPU usage' slider to far right. Actually, I cannot see any FPS difference between working and not working MCE in the simulator.

Thanks guys, just tried it again, i have uninstalled Ground services X (GSX) and stopped my anti virus, and seemed to work much better. One thing i also did was let it sit for 3-4 minute's, my fps would go up and down from 20 down to 3-4, then it finally settled back up at 19-20 fps....I'll report back

Must be something to do with either the mike or sound system. That could also explain why the wizard failed.

If using a USB headset, make sure it's plugged straight to the back of the PC and NOT via a USB hub.

It's important you have a good mike with noise cancelling capability, otherwise the slightest noise will be picked up as a voice command and this in turn would get the speech engine too busy wasting system resources.

Would it be possible to post a screenshot of the <About> tab of the user interface? Alternatively confirm operating system, CPU, and installed memory

Are you using a USB headset or a conventional one?

Do you run the aircraft sounds through the speakers or the headset?

What's the make and model of the built-in sound card on your system?

Thanks

Thanks Gerald for replying....I believe your on the right track with me, I do have my usb headset connected to a hub , we'll change that.

Thats what it seams to be doing! Aircraft sounds are through 5.1 speakers. My sound card is a Creative Technology SB Audigy...Now let me say I did get it working with the Quality Wings BAE aircraft, started out really nice as i was going through Electrical power up with APU flow, but as it got to the end of power up it was crawling along at 3-4 fps. I then tried my Feelthere ERJ 145 V2, and started the APU flow. The FO would say the things to start up, but nothing happens with the switches :IE Electrical power up with APU, he would say what he's doing, but nothing happens, no switches activated. ..... I'll try and get a screen shot to you and change my headset to plug directly into the pc. i'll give it a go and then come back here...and thanks again...

Ok Gerald, have pluged usb headset directly into pc, that helped alot, but still getting FPS up and down but not near as bad. at least it's usable. I have only tried 1 other aircraft and it happens to be my fav for flying. The Feelthere ERJ 145 V2, but like i posted above ,the FO will follow the flow, but will not activate the switches IE: I ask him to turn on battery 1 he says its turned on , but its not....not sure whats wrong. How do you post a screen shot? Also the wizard still will not work when choosing my headset output sound.

I assume Windows UAC is disabled.

Regarding the Audigy sound card...

If running Windows Vista or higher, particularly the 64 Bit edition, you are better off using the sound drivers that ship with Windows instead of the Creative labs ones.

Go to \Flight Simulator X\MCE dlls\ folder and check the file version for "mcftERJX.dll".

That's the file that interfaces ERJ 145 & 135.

Non-supported aircraft will use the "generic.dll" file

To check which trigger sentences are available for a particular aircraft, go to <Command> tab of the user interface and click <VoxScript>

You'll find a list of voice commands to trigger various scripts. You can modify the trigger sentence as well as the FO flow for which you can see the detail.

Aircraft sounds are through 5.1 speakers

I recommend you reduce the volume level, and position the speakers in a way that they don't feed into the mike.

Normally you'd get the best experience with all sounds coming out of the headset.

Remember when performing speech training you're doing so against a near silent environment. Therefore the speech profile will struggle a bit.

It is however possible to improve that.

Record a couple of minutes of the environmental sound you're experiencing with engines running.

Create a brand new speech profile and make it active.

Play the prerecorded noise in a loop all while going through speech training.

A typical mistake is to shout when the cockpit gets noisy, and that throws the speech profile out of the window, because what it needs most is consistency. Ideally your voice tone should be as close as possible to the one you adopted during speech profile training.

"Go to \Flight Simulator X\MCE dlls\ folder and check the file version for "mcftERJX.dll"."  That file is 1.0.0.5

Just checked, have the latest SP  2.0.031, still no flow procedure as far as FO switching switches. maybe should try a reinstall of the ERJ's

Wish I could help, but I don't have the ERJS series in my hangar. So far it works well with the QW Avro? Have you tried with another supported aircraft?

Oh ya Will, it works great with the QW Avro, unbelievable... Thats my second fav aircraft....I have sent email to MCE to ask them what i should look for in files or folders, to see why the ERJ and MCE are not hooking up.
