March 24, 201313 yr Couple of questions. First, has anyone tried this on a Windows 7 64 bit system? Next, it appears FSX benefits from this even if not using a PMDG NGX, is that true. My system is 8 GB DDR3 and my video card is nVidia GTX560 4 GB. And finally, what would need to be done to reset back to default? I don't see that the items listed when running the command, display anything related to this setting. March 24, 201313 yr Hi FP Is that your signature, ? lol. I can only comment on the FSUIP4 on windows 7 64 bit, This has worked for me and surprisingly even helped my frame rate just a bit. But I would have been willing to go further with the info passed to me By Christian. Back to default? I have no idea other then a clean install. Perhaps Christian may have some advice here. regards Guss Anthony Kemp. March 25, 201313 yr Back to default? By back to default I was referring to the system setting prior to executing the "bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa" command. i.e. if you execute the command with the suggested setting and wish to undo it? March 25, 201313 yr - To delete all the settings use the bcdedit /deletevalue IncreaseUserVa command Best regards, Chris. Regards Luke M
March 25, 201313 yr Well when I follow the instructions in Windows 7 an error is returned: "bcdedit is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file." Yes, I am right clicking cmd.exe and running as administrator. I also have my UAC settings set to minimum, which is the same as off. March 25, 201313 yr Hi Christian, I'm having the exact same problem with the CTD when ending a flight in the PMDG 737NGX in FSX. I'm running Windows 8 Pro 64bit. I've installed the latest registered version of FSUIPC and I made the IncreaseUserVa change... still getting CTD. I can also reproduce the CTD by selecting the 737NGX, clicking on Settings, clicking on Free Flight, clicking on Settings again, clicking on Free Flight again. I'm out of ideas of what else to try. Any suggestions? Thanks Jean Jean Joubert
March 30, 201313 yr FSXChris, I've used the command BCDEDIT.EXE /Set IncreaseUserVa 3072 on my Win7-32 bit PC.PMDG 737 works nows perfectly. Could I use a higher settings in my BCDEDIT.EXE command because I have 8GB of RAM Memory ? RAES Wilfried EBBT (Intel Core i7-7700 CPU @ 360GHZ, 16 GB RAM, NVDIA GeForce GTX 1070 and Win10 64 bit)
April 2, 201313 yr FSXChris, I've used the command BCDEDIT.EXE /Set IncreaseUserVa 3072 on my Win7-32 bit PC.PMDG 737 works nows perfectly. Could I use a higher settings in my BCDEDIT.EXE command because I have 8GB of RAM Memory ? Based on the information FSXChris provided, I believe 3072 is the max. 3072 works well for you due to the fact you have 8GB. If you only had 4GB of RAM, 3072 might have drawbacks. Even if you had 16 or 32GB 3072 would be the max AFAIK. Jon Preston
April 9, 201313 yr Hi Christian great detective work. This problem has driven me mad for weeks. Made the changes you suggested and bingo problem solved. Now I can get back to enjoying this great aircraft. Regards Colin
April 10, 201313 yr Hello Everyone, I've bee following this thread with great interest because I've been having similar problems with FSX when exiting the 737NGX aircraft. I'm running Win 8 (64bit version) on a Dell XPS 8500 with a i7-3770 chip and 8 Gigs of ram. I have FSX Gold installed on a separate SSD. The application hangs with a partial FSX Acceleration Titled Screen that says "No Title" and the rest blank. FSX never goes back to the start screen. I have the latest FSUIPC installed and set "IncreaseUserVA 3072". The only way I can exit the application is using the Task Manager. The Task Manager shows abt 14.5% CPU and 850 MB memory usage before I kill the task. Any ideas? Thanks, Jim Driskell James M Driskell, Maj USMC (Ret)
April 12, 201313 yr Jim, I had the same problem as you with Windows 8 64 bit. Read this thread http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-gaming/flight-simulator-x-crashing-after-win8-install/adc36974-f0af-43bd-ab47-a663f469e607 http://forums1.avsim.net/topic/273341-heres-the-apparent-fix-to-fsx-crashing-win-7-x64/ I had no luck, but some have. I ultimately installed a dual os, with one being windows 8 64 bit and the other windows 7 32 bit. Try to read the error report. Post a screen shot. Jared Shipley
